How is everyone doing so far? From the satellite images the storm looks like it is covering the central part of the state. Prayers for all the good folks out there enduring the wind and rain. 🙏
I also agree that the air bags should be tied together by tee-ing off the air lines. It is too hard to get the pressure equal in both bags otherwise.
Although not the same as a trike, I have Airlift bags in my Silverado pickup in the back. The original install I did had each bag connected to its own air line and then Schrader valves installed in the bumper. I could never get the pressure on each side the same. I came across an onboard Airlift compressor for a bargain price so I bought that in installed it. The compressor only had a single output so I ran new air lines and teed them together. This works just fine. I can now adjust the pressure using my remote any time I want.
One reason I could see where you might want separated air lines would be if you had significantly more weight on one side so more pressure would be needed in that air bag to compensate. This would pretty much be a non issue on a trike though. Other possible reason might be if one of the bags developed a leak but the rear suspension should keep the rear end from completely bottoming out. Usually though air bags are pretty sturdy so very little chance of them leaking until they get much older. Running the air lines together is probably the smart choice.
The newer bikes have a lot of extra wire in there, just put a set of handlebars on a 21-Road Glide plenty of cable there. They were dominator handlebars If you call them, they may make you a set a few inches longer on each side ?
I had a couple buddies that did the T-man kits and rebuilt theirs. To be honest I wasn't going to spend the $5,000 to $6,000 for the upgrade. As luck would have it my M8 blew up so I had to rebuild anyway. I decided instead of rebuilding stock I might as well invest a little bit and enjoy the increase. After I got it back it was like having a totally different motorcycle. It is just much more enjoyable to ride IMHO.
I have been to Berts a couple times, we have friends that own a home in Cape Coral. He has two trikes down there so we always something to ride, you folks hold on to your hats and stay safe.
Didn't get any work done on the frame today but below is what I have done recently
Cover plate
Transmission bracket. I had to readjust it for it would fit in the frame without moving the point where the transmission bolts are
BTW the yellow marks are pints I need to lookat for 1 reason or another
Glad you are OK and home safely.
You mentioned the tire was 8 years old. On my bikes, I would consider changing them a bit sooner. My tires were installed in 2022. By 2027, regardless of the miles. I will more than likely change them.
Several things to consider.
That is a very old engine (1950's)
Not a lot of parts availability.
Not much in aftermarket or performance parts.
Mated to the correct trans it will not like 70mph.
The generator stand being cast in will mean it will have to stay 6 volt.....unless you spend the big bucks for an old style Porsche genny.
On the plus side.
36hp is enough.
60mph rural roads ok.
simple
you have it.
I would encourage a later model engine....like 73 and newer.
A 1600 dual port is what all the aftermarket and OEM parts are targeted for.
Even stock it can pull a larger gear (or taller tires) and keep up with traffic.
The Daytona cam is up for Biketoberfest. Hope Milton dies. We are planning on flying down on Monday. Fingers crossed.
Anyway you might get an idea of the wind there this evening and tomorrow morning...

2009 GL1800 Hannigan Trike with NAVI/ABS, 4 gal aux fuel tank, foot fairings (running boards), whale tail spoiler, trailer hitch, heated driver and passenger seats, heated handgrips, Utopia drivers backrest, Linex applied to foot fairings and fenders, completely refreshed in 2021 by a local Honda dealer with new trike tires, new front Avon trike tire installed in 2022, upper and lower front forks, new steering head bearings, new front brake pads, new air filter, all fluids were replaced in 2021 including rear end fluid, regular oil changes by qualified technicians.
Still have the gauge I bought in 1971 when I worked at a Phillips 66, but now use this one as it's easier to read. Years ago, both front and rear tires were 10/32, 2 rears to one front was the norm. Then they changed the front to 5/32 while charging the same, and now even more!. The Dunlop Mission I run on my BMW GS has 15/32. I like that!!
Tony,
Now "that's" a cool lQQking scoot... I bet it's fun zipp'n through the city streets, and not use'n much fuel..
I now ride, like I mentioned above, a 2010 TRIKE'd out Roadsmith Goldwing, it now has 78,600(ish) miles and (knock on wood,) she's still running great/ and the best part of it, that I have put 100% of the miles on her, myself, so I know she's been "babied" 100% of the miles (and I'm an oil changeOHLIC) so I know she's runn'n with 100% clean oil, always splash'n around inside the motor..

I have the rake kit installed. Was a little easier than I thought it would be. I was able to use the triple trees to hold the fork tubes to put the new fork plugs in. I have to put on the wheel and the fender and the inner and outer fairing. Before I completely button it up, I will try to chase down an electrical problem with my heated grips that started after I changed the bars last year. They don't get as warm as they should. Either a crossed wire or a bad connection I'm guessing.
First thing to do is ditch the half-helmet. If you're in a bad enough accident to rely on your helmet, you'll also want to have a face when you are done. Personal experience on this.
So I had my annual appointment with my primary doc at the VA set up for yesterday. Last Friday, with hurricane Milton still 5 days out the VA started closing all their facilities within 200 miles of my location. Of course, my visit got cancelled immediately. I am guessing the staff wanted off so they could either evacuate their homes or start hurricane preparations. I was hoping they would shift some of the appointments to virtual but no luck there.
My concern here is that depending on where Milton makes landfall, several VA clinics will experience severe damage and not be re-opening. Is the VA capable of having advance planning in place to shift care and reach the hundreds of thousands of vets in these affected areas?
Acquired a 2020 RGL to install the Hannigan twin Classic on. Prefect fit same bike it was on. All I will need is paint job for the sidecar and a new wiring harness.
While in over all good shape . The bike needs a little work. The paint had been poorly maintained. Outer faring had some minor damage. The faring can be saved but decided to just go aftermarket replacement for now.
Did some work on paint Sunday and came out better than expected. Side covers ,saddle bags and fuel tank came out good.
Expect the rest to clean up about the same. New faring ,new head light on the way. So is winter. Last two morning have been 30 and 35 degrees. Payton will be ready to ride again in Spring and so will her sidecar.
Decided to put my Street Cannons from my 21 SGS on my 24 TG because I liked the sound but removed the cat while I was at it. Now it is a bit too loud. Installed 118 TTI's which took out the harshness and has the deep mellow sound.

Sitting here tonight, waiting for this next hurricane to arrive and the power outage that is sure to come with it. I have my trusty 9000 watt generator all ready to go which will power 80% of our home. I wonder though what if my family vehicle was an EV? Would I have to turn the a/c off for the house in order to partially charge it? It would definitely create an issue for me if on extended generator for several days. As it is, I just made sure the KIA was fully gassed up so I can drive over 400 miles before needing gas.
Honda Corp nor Local dealership can fix poor personnel performance. If you got reasonable service in the past it might be worth a try. You never know when you may need to use them in the future.
