What Did You Do To Your Freewheeler Today?

Took a long way home, despite occasional rain and stopped on old Delsea Drive near the last steel grid bridge in South Jersey in the background. Rt 55 freeway, on the other side of the creek that you can't see in the pic, parallels this road which doesn't get anywhere near the traffic it used to, which is fine by me.

Nice pic JT

Today out and about running errands and paying bills I logged 50 miles so far, I will be out later tonight after it cools down some
That's how I like to run my errands. By the way I was down in Jacksonville last week, but it was a one dayer in my Jeep for a wedding. Wish I'd had more time (and money :)). Couldn't stay. I'll catch you eventually.

Hi!Thanks! I don't post so much, and it's been quite a while since the last time:):):):)
No worries Max...nobody is on a quota here, we are pretty chill as this isn't a corporate owned forum like most....I'm kinda on and off myself as I do stay really busy building trikes and dont get to post as much as I'd like to.

I did an external breather on my freewheeler last week . I drilled the back housing at the bottom and ran a hose to the ground in the front of the bike. I doubt most of the time there is enuff oil to even worry about a catch can. If winter ever leaves us we will see.

You might consider a small breather filter (very inexpensive) just for peace of mind that you’re not running down the highway spraying oil mist all over your bike

If you are out and about on Sunday, swing by Doc's after ~10:30. I am working on my trike with a tech (I know the store is closed, but we can work without interruption during their downtime). Fitting up the new front end and bars and laying out final hardpoints for plumbing, wire harness etc. and for the machinist to put the final touches on the trees. Here they are BTW

I know this is an old thread but am curious about the trees as they have a provision for the headlight. Also, are they raked?

Sunday I did another mod: I replaced oem transmission top cover with a vented top cover from NICECNC. It was not too difficult, but a little boring cause of the tight spaces, I wasn't able to remove the vent pipe from the old top cover so I did it by myself with a piece of silicon hose. so far it seems to working well. Have a nice day you all.tempImagefHfTby.jpgtempImagebZOEnz.jpgtempImagetPJQ9w.jpgtempImagedFJnnF.jpgtempImageMNYI6R.jpgtempImagegpQGHV.jpg

What does the vented cover do for the transmission ?
I polished my mufflers today ;)

Beautiful May day in South Jersey and was headed out on a long way to lunch and back. Went 2 blocks and the check engine light came on. The dreaded ECM-P2135h TPS Correlation Error! This is the third time this has happened to my '21 Freewheeler. First time it went into "limp" mode when passing a semi on I64 in VA. That was fun. Second time was about 1 year later pulling out of my driveway on another beautiful day when it went into "limp" mode.

Both times shut the trike down while I tried to figure it out and make notes of the error codes. Cleared the codes and restarted all was normal. Same happened today about 1 year later, but did not go into "limp" mode oddly. Dealership says to shut it down and bring them the trike so they can see the codes. I'm telling them what the codes are and how the hell am I'm supposed to get it to them when it happens? It seems this is going to be an annual springtime event and I'll just have to deal with it 'cause Harley doesn't know what to do about it.

A little FYI. Right after I bought my 06 glide classic new in 06 I started getting random check engine light issues and codes. This is reminding me I should do this to my 2015 Freewheeler . The culprit was moisture . I ended up going to the parts store and buying a tube of dielectric grease which I still have and then I pulled every connector and applied the grease and re assembled. I never had another problem . Put 66k on it . I wish I could tell you how I found the moisture to be the problem but that was back in 06 :) . Way to many beers to remember back that far . So maybe just setting all winter and temp changes ? Cant hurt if you have the time.

I finally got out to the garage today after coming down with the flu last Sunday . Let me tell ya this is an ass kicker ! Sweats ,Chills ,aches, pains 6 day headache etc. Wednesday about 4 am i woke up in a puddle of water . My hair was wet top to bottom and I have a pretty long pony tail ! Anyway I got the new short highway pegs mounted and looks like they will work. I bought a piece of windshield trim for the batwing and I am amazed that the trailer store actually drilled the windshield holes that far off from where they actually should be . Looks like the guy was drunk or stoned. All good although I shouldn't have to I will fix it :) After all its just fiberglass and Ive build and painted 3 glass hot rods so I do know how ;) Supposedly tomorrow the 19 inch wrap front fender will be here so I need to get more better to play with that also since I am heading south the 14th.
More tomorrow or Sunday and new pics soon also .
Stay safe and stay well.
Dave

Yesterday. Saturday 5/10/25. Got the new wrap fender on and the stainless windshield trim and re drilled the holes for the windshield where they should be . The trailer store holes were better that 5/8 off side to side then also the height was wrong. I will fill and hide the old holes that show on the inside this winter.
Here are a few new pics.
I may cut the front of the new wrap fender back a bit ? Still deciding on that .
Its interesting as these sell for less that 40.00 to over 200 and its still the same abs fender.
Other than the mounting points could be thicker to reduce shake its not a bad fender and since my bike is black there is no paint work :) I can flex it around but it doesnt seem to shake when the bike is running so we shall see . I am going to change the bolts out to stainless with nylock nuts when I get to the store . I dont think there is anything else I need at the moment except the new 12 inch windshield. . Thats supposed to be here Tuesday .
Happy Mothers Day !
Dave

Been here in Lebanon/Xenia Ohio since Thursday. here for the Hamvention, Amateur radio convention. We have ridden every day. Friday night was storm night, Saturday was trigger switch issues. Trike survived the storm but next time i will plastic bag the left controls. maybe the right also. Everything came back around today . We did some covered bridge stuff.Trans still shifts loudly when hot. Acts like its full of marbles but it works ! Stopped at Xenia HD and there was a guy leaving and he put his bike in first and you could have heard that 4 states away.
Back to Mi tomorrow.
Dave

RE Trans clunk: Changed my trans fluid to Harley 80w140 and rode less than 50 miles before changing to redline synthetic as trans clunk shifting was so loud.
Next I am going back to redline. I used it to 66k on my 06 glide classic and have no idea why I changed for this trike . I have 75 140 or what ever it in now . Mobile one synthetic but at some point I am going back to the redline shockproof.
