It's been about 8 years ago that I posted most everyday in the "A Day in The Life.." thread that can be seen here.

It was an interesting year for sure, and it was fun most of the time.
:)

I've been toying with the idea of doing it again for the year of 2025. Should be an interesting year!
:D

This thread is for myself, and anyone else that wants to join in, to post daily adventures, observations, experiences & photos of owning and riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Here's a photo I took yesterday at the shop-

Left to Right-

SBS Chop Bike that is getting some work done to it
Devin's Gen II, VVT Street Glide
The DK Sporty
All parked in the shop up against a bunch of billet aluminum stock.

Ok, here we go. Starting a day early!

Wanted to get the Trike washed for a ride tomorrow, plus for some video that I'm going to shoot on Thursday.

Dec%2031%20wash%20trike%201.jpg

Challenge was that it is 42 degrees and I did not want to get wet and cold.

Solution: I wore my rain pants (it is generally my pants that get wet while washing).

Dunno why I never thought of that before. Between the rain pants, waterproof riding boots, quilted flannel shirt and beanie, I did not get cold at all.

Just realized I did not get a photo of it all clean...and it is all put away.

Will have a couple of photos tomorrow from our New Years Day Ride!

i am some kind of cornfused..I call d&k customs @ 662.252.8828 in MS. The lady that answered had no idea about trike rake kits. Or am I supposed to call Cut N Shoot from Conroe tx? Or who???
What nucseal said. Give Randy at Cut N Shoot a holler. That is where I would get mine if I wanted one.

That’s white right there, both the bike & the boy. I’m going to Mexico in 2 weeks because my white a$$ needs a tan.

Not 2025 yet, but we’re preparing our final 2024 shipment to Drag Specialties, set to go out next week.

Tour Pak Relocation Kits-

They will be on a pallet and gone next week, complete with the sticker letting people know that they may cause cancer in California.

Kevin
I'm curious about that sticker. What creates that need to put a warning label on a hardware set? I see that sticker on porcelain coffee cups and lots of other innocuous stuff. Are people scraping things off the items and inhaling it?

In California, a law called Proposition 65 (formally the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to warn consumers if their products contain certain chemicals known to the state to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Metal parts, coatings, or processes sometimes use or produce trace amounts of these listed chemicals (for example, lead, nickel, chromium, cadmium, or other substances that can appear in alloys or surface treatments). Even if the amount is very small, if it exceeds specific thresholds set by the state, a Proposition 65 warning label is legally required.

We would have to get each piece of metal analyzed, by Independent Laboratory Testing, by an Accredited testing lab, then, maybe we would have a basis to forgo the warning label.

This is impractical, so we just sticker the parts that go to various distributors, since they may end up being shipped to California.

That’s why we have to use the warning sticker—it’s to comply with California’s law, letting consumers know there may be a chemical present that the state has identified as potentially hazardous.

Kevin

FN California. Thanks. I've wondered about this for a while. Coming from a manufacturer I understand better now.
Yeah, it is completely ridiculous. In addition to this requirement, there are even more restrictions. There are quite a few parts that we cannot even ship to California.

It is like it is an entirely different country.

Just got back a bit ago from our New Years Day Ride.

It was 38 degrees when we left, and warmed up to a whopping 42 degrees by the time we got back home.

That is colder than Mary likes to ride in, even with a heated jacket liner. You can see she is all bundled up.

We rode right at 80 miles, all back country roads.

We had a great time starting the New Year off right!
:)

Hope y'all have had a Great New Year's Day!

Put the TG up in the air today to shoot some video footage of a few things.

Notice in the pic below, I did not get the Tri exactly centered. If I was going to be working on it I would have backed it off and gotten it straight. But I am just shooting a little B-roll to go with some videos, so felt comfortable with it like that.
Normally, when it is centered, only 1" of each rear tire hangs off the edges of the lift.

btw, after washing it 2 days ago, it is good to see that the ceramic coating from 5 years ago is still holding up.
:)

I do "cheat" a bit and use Gyeon Wet Coat spray on it a couple of times a year.
:D

Kalifornia should put up a list of things that they know will not cause cancer. That way evryone can easily assume that everything will cause cancer, and save money
Yeah, likely the list would be very short in Cali.

Mary and I left that State about 35 years ago and have not regretted it for even 1 minute!
