What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Upon the recommendation of a HD Tech who rides hard I went from Yn 3 to 80/140 and am happy. Seems to shift easier and quieter. Also changed from stock linkage to one with grim joints and finding neutral is much easier and it shifts WAY better. Just my results

I did the same procedure with Redline and heim joints, wow what a (positive) difference.

Cleaned out my 2010 tri/glide and still waiting for my 2022 to be delivered. I got a few parts for the new ride. It should get here once the new parts come in. JUST IN TIME TO BURY FOR WINTER ......Boy it is going to be a long wait for spring this year.

Do any bird hunting with that Shorthair’? I hunted a lot over my Old Man’s shorthair (Pheasant, Quail, Partridge)…

New amp and stuff

Finished up doing new speakers and amp today. Took alot longer then I had planned for. But thats why I waited for the weather to cool off. Everything was pretty straight forward EXCEPT the speaker pods. Don't watch any of the YT videos' out there and think it's gonna be easy. The Trike is different. With our rake the last three bolts on either pod are pretty hard to get to. Make sure you have a long (like 24") extension and swivel sockets. Not just a universal. Maybe a ball joint allen wrench would work. It took longer to get those bolts out then the rest of the install. I found the best way to get to them is to remove the passing lights and fasteners that hold the fairing in place. Lift up about an inch or 2 and tilt the fairing forward. The fork down tubes block four of the bolts. Otherwise...easy day...or two....maybe three if your retired and don't care how long it takes. More if you don't use the Cicada HDTLINK harness.

Picked up the Tri today.. Had brakes & clutch fluids changed, Also Cat free installed & some bushings replaced on the forks. Now it's home & will change all the oils for the long winter nap.. Sounded good at start-up,will see when we ever get a warm day.(not gonna hold my breath)... At least it will run a little cooler.

New stuff

Today I added an wider front shift peg and a wider foot brake pad. I also replaced the screen saver on the Nav/radio screen. I tried to add LED light bulbs to the tail lights but they just blink too fast and not in unison with the Tour Pak turn signal. Does anyone make just the light bulbs and not the whole tail light unit?

Custom Dynamics does. Pro Beam tail lights and also for the tour pak light bar. Other vendors may also.

Seem to remember.... Turn ignition ON & hold both Turn for a min or 2. Sylvania makes the bulb ...somewhere on here Jack posted the #. They work great & r super bright

Found it...

Not a Triglide, but I use them on my FLRT Freewheeler

They are brighter than stock bulbs, draw less amperage and will last longer

You will probably have to sync it to your BCM by turning the ignition on and running the 4 ways for a minute or 2

These are available every where

LED tail lights

Perhaps my problem was not syncing the bulbs that I did try. I will put them back in and give it a try. I did find the Sylvania bulbs on Amazon in case the ones I have don't work.

Thanks for the quick response. Now to wait for the after Christmas sales for more stuff.

Trunk light

Add a nice LED light I had left over from my old Ultra. In case you didn't know, under the trunk lid cover the license plate light circuit has a pigtail thats hot all the time. Saves running a line back to the battery or tourpac to get a hot line.trunk.jpglite.jpg

With my 2019 Try-Glide...That pig tail is only hot when the Ignition Switch is on Ignition or the Accessory Position..

Belated question.....If its hot all the time.?..The light will stay on all the time, or did you put a on/off switch in line ??

That light set has a built in timer. Hit it once and it stays one for about a minute or so. Till I remembered I had this light I was looking at a ball style tilt switch that would turn on when the hatch is open.

Negative, it was posted in this forum a couple years ago. It's a good idea.

I had an LED light bar in my 16. did not reinstall in the 20. Motion activated. so was dead most of time . Rechargeable but a pain. May look for one with a on/off switch. However got shoved on the back-burner & never got to the front again. lol

This thread woke me up. Got some 12V w/switch ordered. Have to install when shocks come back. Did get new Goodyears for the back wheels. Looking for a new front also, but can't seem to find anyone using the new Avon. So no input. Removing an Elite 3,which was not too bad.
