What did you do to your Trike this week?

I truly love that yellow Nova that you ride. What do you think of it?

The Nova has been great. I have had very few problems with it and it is a pleasure to drive. I have been toying with the idea of converting it to a Subaru engine using a VROD radiator in front and a second radiator with an electrict fan mounted under the trike.

This weekends projects included mounting the Memphis Shades fairing and getting started on LED lighting. Got the most difficult ones done, under the tank and bottom of frame.

Changed out my Turn Signal lights. Install LED lights, they now stay on as driving lights in the bright white color. When you apply the turn signal it changes to flashing Yellow color. They are Very Bright lights . Very easy install, just pulg and play. one pic shows yellow signal, also tag with part number. Got it at local HD dealer.

WOW, you guys are on a streak! You got a lot finished and things are looking good!
Working on permanent folding ramps for my enclosed trailer. Trike very low, so need ramps to load and unload the trike. Used 2X6 boards, but pain in butt to pull out and in, so now will put 2X12 boards attached to the rear door. Used piano hing to tie boards together, but learned after I had the hinges bolted together to
stagger the bolts, or the hing would not close. I am sure you carpenters out there would have said, rookie! LOL Live and learn, true!
Need to attach them to the rear door, then I will post photos.

a work in progress? not done yet.

this week i put on a new header system along with a set of mid pipes along with a set of tailgunner gunships. also have a s&s stealth air cleaner and a power vision. took it out last night for a ride and do a auto tune. my hearing must be getting sesitive or better. those tailgunner.s are loud! i really thought they were mild. i have a set of v&h classic turn down,s are dam well loud! i know they are not going on and i know the tailgunner,s are coming off! it look,s like the stock muffler,s are going back on? is there a better muffler out there that will give me the quiet? that i apparently like compared to the stock? muffler? thank you all.

Loud Pipes

The local and state Police are starting to fine people with loud pipes. They have check points set on local routes frequented by bikes/trikes and check them.
Story:
I have a Goldwing trike and I have been told to put a bell on my trike and quit coming up to people and scaring them. LOL
Was riding down a beach road and looked ahead and saw a bike check point for loud pipes. The police officer was by the side of the street waving all motorcycles over when he saw/heard them coming. He never saw me or heard me coming, as I passed him, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw him turn and start waving his arms, he realized he never heard me coming, shook his head and waved me on!
What a shock when the officer saw me out of the corner of his eyes going by him!
Janice and I were laughing all the way home!

Db Meter

As far as I know, never had it done, you rev your motor to a certain RPM, then they put the meter by the pipes to see how loud.
I believe the levels are stated in the NHDMV web page.
2000 rpm 96 dbs
5000 rpm 100dbs
I don't know how out of state motorcycles are effected?

Trailer Ramps

Almost finished with my trailer ramps. Need to paint a few things and should be finished.
Here are a few pictures on how they work, hopefully they will right side up, but with me, you never know.
Oh yes, didn't need any help from NY or MS, as they would have come to "help" me!

Ramp up and down.

We needed the ramps for the extra heigh so the trike doesn't bottom out. Hannigan kit low to the ground. Also, take the extra weight off the flap which comes down on the trailer door.
Thanks
Never thought of door hing closer, see that's why I needed advise from NY & MS! LOL

looks good rosy, have you closed the door too see how far from the back of the trike, try some screen door hooks too secure.
Janice says, she would not trust the screen door hing because of the bouncing around during travel. See, I have help even in NH! LOL

Skuuter, everything counts. How was the ride?
Pictures?

Really enjoyed the Ride and Handling...no Pics... I was in Murfreesboro, Tennessee shopping for a Deck Swing and just happened to notice it was "Demo Day" at the Harley Dealer....."spur of the moment" Ride...I never turn down a "Freebie Ride".....:D

Don't worry, the ramps are bolted to the door, so they won't be coming off. I didn't want the one hanging to swing as we traveled, so I bunged it. I don't think it would hit the trike, but why take a chance.

I wanted to trailer my trike on my landscape trailer but couldn't get it on with the 4 foot ramp without ripping the exhaust system off. I ordered this ramp kit and it should take care of the problem. http://www.discountramps.com/big-boy-trike-ramp/p/MF3-AMR/ I ordered the 9 foot ramps. According to the site calculations I probably could have gotten away with the 8 foot but figured I'd better be safe than sorry. Should be in this weekend and I'll give it a try.

Ramp

Great Idea! If you think of it post pictures, someone else may want to do what you did.
That's great.

I'd have to get one of my sons to do that for me. Still trying to figure where to stuff those photos into my computer! I believe the ramps will be in this Friday. I'll get a chance to try them then.

Hope you get your ramps and they work out just great. Let us know, as soon as you can.

Avon

Who is running Avon's new front tire? Any reports on how they are doing?
We have plenty of data on the Michelin tires, now we need it on the Avon.
Thanks

Finally got around to putting the Flanders bars on my RSV with Baron's risers, along with upgrading my front brakes to Gold dot R1 calipers and SS lines and VMax line splitter. Had to add longer SS throttle cables and longer hydraulic clutch hose so I went SS there as well. Installed heat to the new Kuryakin grips. Did a little dress up work on the wiring harnesses and added some spiffy engine side covers designed by a guy in Iceland and even hand delivered to me on his last visit to the US! Replaced the anemic stock speakers with some triaxial Kenwoods.

Still have some more lighting work to do before I put her all back together but seeing as the crew at Venturerider.org demanded pictures here's some shots of what got done so far...

Thank you for the pictures, looking good!
Funny seeing a trike when it is strip down. Then you realize how much goes into the production of a motorcycle. No wonder they charge $85 hour to work on them.
