Beautiful day nice ride bride and I had a great ride. The old trike is giving us 32 miles per gallon back here in PA. I am satisfied with that. Running strong, handling outstanding and riding great. I switched to a Low Harley seat that was gifted to me, and I'm not sure I like it the seat may be out for adoption again. I'm not sure I like the position a little low for me it was a trial. Fred I highly recommend the Mustang one-piece touring saddle. I got the heated version over two years ago for my 2018 TG and now it's on my 2020 TG. Enjoyed the Harley Hammock seats that came standard on my various CVO baggers and tried the dealer's demo seat in this version. But the Mustang is far superior in my opinion . . . and my wife's.
We got the Mustang 1 piece last year and love it. The only problem is the seat bolt is almost impossible to get in, the seat sits further back. But love riding on it![]()
Now old Shiney has had the spacers on the floorboards since I adopted it. However reaching in to get to the toe shifter has been somewhat annoying to me. I can't leave anything alone so I purchased a 5/16" bolt 3 !/2" long and manufactured another spacer to match the floorboard spacers. Only problem is I could not find a 3 1/2" chrome button head bolt so I used a grade 8 and turned to fit. I had to slot it to make it secure. Ride safe FredView attachment 87136View attachment 87137
I used a CB antenna connector drilled it to fit the 5/16 fine thread bolt. Chucked it in the drill press and turned the head down to fit. Then I used a dremel cutting wheel to slot the grade 8 bolt head. I wish I could find a button head 3 1/2" fine thread chrome but till then this will work. FredLooks good Fred. BTW they do make a spacer for that for those of us who aren't as handy at innovation and modification as you.
Had fun today putting on some DK Custom Product items to help with cooling.
The 1.5 inch Tank Lift Kit (with rear lift included) worked well with my TSK Mayhem Bagger handle bars. From the look of things the 2" lift would have caused interference with the tank and bars on full turns so I'm glad I guessed right on choosing the 1.5".
Installed the Cooling Deflector Wings. Had to use a flex joint on my socket to tighten the tank bolts. The wings don't allow a straight clear shot to the tank bolts.
Installed the Floor Board Extensions which is a great improvement for the ankle comfort on the right side. The heat on the right side had me riding with my foot out on the very edge of the floorboard. Here in Florida it is not uncommon to jump on the trike with shorts on and flip flops or in low top tennis shoes for those quick runs around town and the heat was excessive. The test run today with low top tennis shoes was totally comfortable. Problem fixed.
Installed the DKCP Convertible Comfort Lift on my trike today. Had to use the secondary holes because the full lift holes were no where close to aligning with the bolt holes. There was a need to lower the axle to align with the full lift holes which wasn't possible. I tried lifting the axle from the gear shield but it made the alignment worse. I felt during installation that there was very little difference in the DKCP bracket and the stock bracket when you use the secondary holes and maybe I had wasted my money. However after install (which isn't easy) I noticed quite a difference in height when I put my feet down to roll the trike out of the garage. Also during my test ride I am looking way over my stock windshield now. Undecided as to if this is a more comfortable ride or not. That will come when I do a long ride to see how the comfort level has changed. I'm buying in from all the comments that this is a more comfortable riding position but time will tell. I'll report back after a few hundred miles or so on the comfort level due to the lift.
Thanks to Fearless (Fred} for the nice comments to my last post on this thread.

When we see you later in a month or so we will take a look at that bag of bolts. It only makes sense if you space the floorboards you need to do the shifter peg. I never liked the short stubby shifter but I adapted to it. Who ever markets spacer's for the floor boards should do a complete kit including a shifter spacer as well. The back one was switched out for an extended one this winter and I just am getting used to it, I do like the extra space on the floorboard. Thanks for the offer of a bolt, I would really like to swap it out for the proper one. :good: Ride safe FredNext time ask ,Fred. I have a bag of those bolts. I bought them 3 yrs ago when I got spacers for my 16. If I had been on here sooner would have hollered at ya. Been off day & 1/2 or so. When I looked for those bolts ,could only buy a bag of 20 or so.Have a bunch left.
