What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

I did a privacy reset on the boom box this afternoon, I had some waypoints on the GPS that I couldn't delete. Also ordered a new Avon Trike tire to replace the original Dunlop, it's looking a little worn, got 15,000 miles out of it.

Installed a new rear brake light switch from O'Reillys - $9.00 H-D

Version $19.00........

Flushed and bled rear brakes using Speed Bleeders. Correct size for my year (2011) is SB8125L

Lots of air bubbles...............

What does a privacy reset do and how did you do it?

Kurt, the privacy reset just gets rid of any waypoints in the GPS that are stored, lets say you're selling the bike and don't want anyone knowing where you've been or if you had Home programmed. In my case a few routes I imported from a GPX file would not delete so I did the reset, it doesn't change the software version you're running or wipe out any favorites you might have programmed.

1. Turn IGN OFF. Wait 15 seconds.

2. Press and hold power/mute button. Turn IGN to ACC.

3. Continue to press power button for 2 seconds after the WARNING screen is displayed.

4. Release power/mute button and accept warning.

Then you will have to scroll down all the options to get to reset, under Reset there is the privacy reset option.

Keep in mind this is for the 6.5 Boom Box from 14 on up, I have a 15 but don't know about the setup on the 17 & 18 M8s

Finally got to change oil ended up froze in with last seasons oil, more importantly tested out new greaseable shifter shaft it really made shifting effortless so smooth. The OEM was horrible and I didn't even know it, bad for sometime never dreamed of it being corroded and cruddy. on the inside. That Pingel shaft is really nice. :good:Ride safe Fred

My dads quote; waite a few years when new stuff comes, as the original design will improve !

Should of listened to him , as the 13” seems not as smooth as the 14” ! That extra 1” makes a big difference. Son, not like father

Took her into the dealer today, 15,000 mile service and one of the brake switches is stuck, the rear lights are on all the time. Also getting a new Avon Trike tire put on the front end.

Purchased new tires for the Anarchy wheels (Pirelli Cinturato P7), wanted the Goodyear Comfort Tread, but when I got to the tire shop they said there must have been an error in the warehouse computer (not in stock). So the tire guy suggested the Pirelli tires instead (said they have a better side wall than the Goodyears), they are also supposed to be run flats. Time was a factor for the tires, as I will be out of town for the rest of the week and leaving Monday for a trip to Texas (Houston and Victoria).

Put Goodyear Comfort Treads on the last TriGlide for the same trip and no complaints. Will see if there is any notable difference between these tires.

Will post my report next week of my opinion of these tires.

Also stopped by the local Harley store and the parts guy said that Harley is moving away from the Dunlops and the tires they are recommending can be purchased from Wally World for around $74 (he's couldn't remember what tire).

CJ , what size wheels , 15, 16 ? Also wheel brand and wheel number , would be appreciated. Pix of the install .

Iv found that run-flats are a hard tire. Would also inquire if running low pressures, 22-24 , are going to effect any low profile tire. Thanks.

I put Comfortred's on the rear the other day.

Even though I have around 30k miles on the front tire (rear tire reversed), I still have 5-8k miles I could go on it. But since we're getting ready to leave on a 10k mile trip, I just ordered an Avon Trike front tire.

I've had great experience with the Dyna Beads over the years, but because of the puncture protection, I'm going to give the Ride-On a try in this tire.

Would it be rude to ask what a 10K trip looks like? Dat is a whole bunch of miles Kevin!

This year, we are starting out at the Trike Talk Eureka Springs Gathering in the Ozarks.

From there we head to Colorado to visit some friends and ride some of the great roads there, then to Yellowstone, then up the Beartooth Pass and over to visit family in Montana. After that, heading down to Idaho to visit more family & friends.

Then crossing Oregon and traveling the northern California Coast. Visiting more family in Central Cali. Then across the Sierra's and down to Nevada to visit more family.

From there heading across Utah, Colorado and on back home to Mississippi.

We are looking forward to a great trip. I'll be posting up a Ride Report with lots of photos.

Last week I contacted Kevin to get the Dunlop REAR tire for the front of the TG (I got one from him last year at an incredible price). Kevin checked with Devin and told me this year's price had gone up significantly, then recommended the Avon tire for the front, as he was considering this option also. He even put me onto a competitor's website where the price was very reasonable and shipping was free. I followed his recommendation and ordered one. It came today.

This is an example of the exceptionally outstanding business practice you can expect from Kevin and Devin. They go above and beyond to see that us "trikers" are getting the best possible ride and performance out of our bikes. There should be more businesses like this, but as long as we have DK, we need to look no further!

Tire and new bearings get assembled into the new powder coated front wheel tomorrow....

....pics to folloow when the final assembly is complete.

Was thinking of washing off the mud from yesterdays ride into camp the road in is a mile long dirt road, Then i said what the hey, It will only get mud on it again nest week...
