What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Ordered the DK tour-pak relocate kit on Friday, rec'd it today (Monday) Lightning fast as always. Took me about 1 hour to install. I have had practice removing and installing the tour-pak a few times. Did a few mods to it. I pushed the tour-pak back 2" and had the wife sit on the bike with me to check fit. More than enough room, now I have to keep an eye on her legs and the "Oh **** bars" (grab bars) since she has shorter legs. I may need to install adjustable passenger mounts to lift her boards up. I ordered the filler pad at the same time, we shall see how long it takes to be delivered. Has anyone installed adjustable mounts before on a trike?

Mary loves the Adjustable Passenger Pegs on our Tri-Glide...she uses them far more than the floorboards. See them HERE.

I installed heated grips on my 2011 Tri Glide. Instructions really SUCK. They make the install much more complicated.

So I looked at the wiring diagram in the instructions, and bypassed most of the instructions.

I soldered and shrink wrapped all connections. I'm sure most dealers don't do this.

I had a great sense of satisfaction, after the install.

I usually use instructions sheets to clean the windshield on my truck :D

I got a few visitors at the shop n this rainy day, and we’re going over the seasons traveling plans, wile I was removing last years bugs offf the whindshield. Used McGyars no way n wax detailer, not bad , as it does remove those guey year old critters.

Im going for a 80 mile ride tomorrow and when i leave in the morning the temps will be in the low 30's high 20's...So i decided to use my plug-in heated jacket, Instead of my battery one.

So i go to remove the seat to pull the pig-tail out in the open, And i find that the bolt that holds the seat is AWOL...Gone?....I did find the right tread bolt in my mixed hundred pounds of bolts/nuts ...But I did have to hacksaw off about two inches cause it was too long.

But it works ...The reason i mention this is because every time i have to go into that pile of old bolts i get a chuckle , My Son keeps on telling me to throw out all that stuff, When are you ever gonna need it , Or for that matter find something that will fit...

Well sometimes the Bear gets you and then sometimes i get the Bear, The bear lost today....Oh yea its still raining out side....:xzqxz:

It's My Daily Driver

Rode to work about a 1.5 miles ( I try to feel bad for all those people that sit in Rush Hour Traffic ). When I got home I found that the trike cover I ordered arrived. The Arizona sun is brutal. The instructions advise that the velour lining can melt if it contacts hot exhaust pipes and engine parts. I figure about a 10 minute cool down should be good. Any thoughts?

Tough them after 10 minutes. That will tell if they're cool enough.

Not trying to be a smart a$$. ;)

Me thinks 10 min might not be enough. When I am going to do something near the hot exhaust after a ride, I wait 15 min or so and then lightly touch the exhaust with my deerskin glove (natural color) on. If it is hot through that, wait a while longer. I don't get a burn and there are no marks from the glove on the exhaust.

Had the 5k oil change,3 holes full synthetic and filter, Plus they checked every thing on the 5k check list ...And also replaced a seat bolt with a Gen'u'wine HD One And for good reason, The one i used was a 3/8 head, And if i had to remove the seat on the road i would need to carry a 3/8 socket i didn't think about that till they tried to remove the seat.....Also they reprogramed ? the lights so the spots will stay on with the high beams ...Why do i need that , Who knows:Shrug: But just did it N/C....

Nice to run persutes with high beams :clapping:

No sence of humor :Dorag:

Also your helmet had to have reflected tape that can seen from the sides and back..

Even though adding tape or paint to a helmet will void the helmets warrantee..

The state inspection went like this.....You pull up to the staton , Park the bike go inside the office ' Brake up the inspectors grab-ass party, Then loudly tells you to wait out side....

10 15 minutes...Grumpy comes out , Says license registration insurance .....Reads them in slow-motion , Then says start the engine ...Then turn on the brights , left signal , right signal step on the brakes.....Blow the horn, Eye balls the helmet, Turns around walks into the office , 10 minutes later comes back with the passed sticker...:gah:

Rec'd the new larger filler pad today. Needed longer screws like a few have suggested. It seams like it is a little too big and stiff, and I hope the warmer weather(if it ever shows up) helps loosen up the material.

I also added the adjustable passenger footboard mounts to help the wife get comfortable. Now with the tour-pak pushed back 2" it looked like her legs would be un-comfortable on long rides.

Bob, what did the dealer charge for the 5 K Service ? They are running a special here for $299.

With tax....Total out the door 116.51......When you buy a bike from them the 1k And 5k there isn't any labor charge.....[90$ an hour]

All my sno equipment is done ✅ Anything that accumulates now , the good lord will remove.

Just one of those days just couldnt get warm. Got the house to 75* with long John top. Not sick just can’t get rid of this chill.

Removed the cover that has been on for over a week. Having some work done on my house and it's been in the garage covered. New roof and new stucco on the front. Haven't been able to get it out of the garage due to construction trailers taking up all of my driveway. Hopefully I can wiggle it around tomorrow and get out, only one trailer in the driveway now and I have a 250 mile ride planned.

First Repair

I was at the Basic Three Wheel Rider Course - Day 2. which means the day for the skills test. I was on course waiting for another student to clear the course and while searching for neutral my shifter shaft stripped out. lucky for me a Harley dealer was a block away. I left the session and rode to the dealer in 1st gear. $110 and an hour later after kneeling down on hot Arizona pavement I completed my first parking lot repair.

The result is I have to reschedule the day 2 riding portion and travel 110 miles one way for a 4 hour riding session to complete the course. The ride down will be in the very early morning but the ride home will be in the blazing AZ heat. I also learned that I need to put together a better tool kit than the one provided with the trike. If you aren't learning, you aren't living.

I noticed the shifter was loose on old shiney tried to tighten it no deal. Replaced with Pingel Greasable shifter shaft a little pricey but I don't plan on having that problem again. Travel safe Fred

50 degrees today, so got out for a short ride (no time for longer)! Weather turning to crap again from tomorrow through Monday. This chit is getting tiresome!

Took it off the table lift , installed my true dual beam headlight. Aimed it then Faced it towards the street for a fast getaway back home. :clapping:
