What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Hiya Ebert, they are HD SE Street Canons with the Revolver end caps, no mods to them other than the TTI's.

Hello , thanks for the reply ! I just traded for a 2018 , had Rush slipons on my 2014 and considering something else ! I am wearing a helmet more and more and the noise resonance with a helmet on is a big problem , may just keep stock exhaust ! Ebert

New Windshield and stuff

Installed a LRS Ultra Wide dark smoke shield on my 17 TG. Last week I put on footboard extenders and wide ISO brake pedal and shifter pegs.

Replaced the battery today. What a PIA. :gah:

What is even worse is jump starting the trike in a campground, getting to the terminals without disconnecting the ECU.

I keep a jump starter and mini air compressor in the trunk. I have them attached to the inner wall with velcro. I wired a harness to the battery and ran it to under the side cover. I can pop the side cover off and jump the battery in 2 minutes. Keep in mind, you can not jump start thru the battery tender cable

I've wondered if you had a "Tender" cable you could plug in to each bike.....could you jump that way, using the tender hook-ups?

Thanks - jc

NO you can not jump start thru the tender cable. Most jump starters send too much current for the tender cable to handle, and you will melt them if not careful. You can purchase a much higher gauge plug like I did and wire it directly to the battery. Once complete you can use it as either the jump start cable or battery tender.

Thanks - But to be clear - Not using a jump starter.....using an extension tender cable...from one bike to the other,......

NO, a cable meant to let the tender be placed further away from the bike would reverse the positive and negative polarities if hooked between two bikes. A specially made cable that intentionally reversed the leads could be used to trickle charge one bike from another one, but not to extend the length of the regular charging leads. Don't try to start it that way. there would be way too much current drawn from the starter. Would blow the inline fuse on the pigtail(if it has one), or melt the pigtails, or could do damage to the electrical system.

Consitter had this happen to him awhile back.

Thanks for the heads up - Been wondering if that was ever a on road option - NOT

Bill is right. My brother in law had the bright idea of trying to use a jump box hooked up to my tender cable. Fried it and smoke started coming up from under my dashboard! The auxiliary switches all got fried as a result.

Take my advice and don’t do it!

Got in my first ride since installing DK Customs 2 inch tank lift and rider floorboard extensions. Worth every penny.

It's 90 F. today and trike is definitely running cooler. Not having my heels cooked by the motor was a plus.:)

Thanks Kevin.

Got back home from Sturgis. Was riding in Needles Hyway. Got an engine light. Took it to the Black Hills HD. Had to wait for 4 hours to get it fixed. PO 152 Code. Had to replace the rear o2 Sensor. They wanted to charge me $59.00 for the fix. I said Wait a minute. The trike is only 1 year old. Should be under warrantee. Of course they agreed. I think they do that to everyone just to see if they would pay it. Any way, got home and checked the fluids. Transmission fluid was right on the money. (Formula +). Had to put in a 1/2 qt. of engine oil. (Syn 3) Trike ran great. Hit lots of rain, some marble size hail. Got under building porch. All is good. Great time. Jerry

New mods

Getting ready for the front end mods. Will be swapping out the inner fairing and dash panel for painted to match ones, adding the new amp and speakers, swapping out the radio face and the gauges with ones that have blue back lighting to match the bike, new bars with all chrome hand controls, new braided chrome clutch line and brake lines, new clutch cover and new chrome lower forks.

Here is partial tear down progress.....

Parts received from DK

Yesterday, I got my son to help me and cut the cat out of the header. I got my exhaust gaskets and 258 TTI from DK so I started putting everything back together today. (Have to do a little at a time because still recovering from quadruple bypass.) Next I am going to cut the baffle out of the stock slip-ons and install the 258's.

update

OK, so I have the catless headpipe I made, ceramic coated inside and out and installed. I have the new chrome fork cans and lowers installed. The new stainless brake lines installed. The new bars with internal wiring, all chrome controls and backlit buttons installed. And the new painted to match inner fairing with trim installed with the new amp and whim module, and the new CVO gauges I had modified to blue back lighting. Just need to button it up and enjoy. I am hoping to get her done in time for the 115th anniversary ride coming thru York PA this weekend.

My On Going Work

Cut the end off of the stock slip-on from my 2013 tri-glide. Was not what I thought I would see. Was expecting to see something like Kevin (DK) had posted on his stock Slip-on. NOT, mine is a 3.5 inch wide open chamber with a wire mash and a thin layer of packing between the wire and outer can. Not sure now how I want to precede. Was not wanting too loud but wanting more free flowing.
