Maggie Valley

Won't make it this year. Leaving next Tuesday to go back to Virginia for my brother's funeral. My trip to the East coast is coming a little early this year. It was no fun last year 4 hours after checking into the hotel finding out that you have COVID and must lock yourself in your room.

Every time I went by your door last year I kept saying to myself, "I hope you're OK." There were some prayers thrown in there too. We'll miss you this year but hope to see you in 2023.

Dale, Maggie Valley is not one of those "You have to go here, you have to go there" gatherings. It is very laid back, lots of options for rides, either with a leader or strike out with someone else. Getting together for supper and in the rocking chairs in evening for a few libations and lies is the fun.

We hope to be there. As long as the hip replacement due next month goes well.

Good luck on the surgery. Hope to see you in MV. this time. Lola said you were walking with a cane. Not fun I'm sure. We will be riding some state & US roads down.

John, I thought I showed you how to get thru appointments with the table and knives. Stay calm, do what the Dr. says, work hard to recover, be fun for the nurses and physical therapists and you'll be fine especially if we all chip in with copious amounts of prayers. 😊

Scheduled for May 19. Should be able to get in a few miles before MV.

Had a neighbor here ,had that done & was out walking everyday sometime after. Healed quickly & was out riding the 2 wheeler fairly soon. Seems to me he told us ,the new way helped heal faster. Cant remember if he said surgery was from "the rear, rather than the front". They moved so I can't ask him. He worked at Premier Health & had a great surgeon. Maybe ask your DR. Best of luck with rehab & keep us posted next month.

Care to share it with a neighbor (kind of)?

The wife and I just relocated to Kentucky, and we haven't had the chance to ride many of the roads you mentioned....

Have you ridden the area around Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge (including the Nada Tunnel)??? We've been impressed w that part of the state and have come across several waterfalls too....
