Maggie Valley 2025

Papa Zook contacted Michael who has owned the Best Western in MV where we have stayed for a lot of years but alas, the Motel has been sold. I checked rates over the internet and they were around $85 per night which have been right around our usual rate. I don't know if a group rate would be any better.

So what are everyone's thoughts, Michael still owns the Quality Inn next to BW, but looking at the satellite images there is nowhere to gather outside our rooms and it doesn't have a lot of room for those that trailer their rides. He also owns the Comfort Inn next to the Fairgrounds with some outside gazebo area for gathering, the prices are similar to the BW.

Please chime in and lets see how many might come and I will contact management and see about a group rate in the coming weeks, thanks again Randy for reaching out for us.

I'm kind of partial to places that have the room door open right to the parking lot like the Best Western. Comfort Inn and Quality Inn room doors look like they open into a hallway and then you would have to walk down the hallway to exit. To be fair though, I have not fully committed to being there but am at about 90% sure.

However, I do understand loyalty and that isn't something to be ignored either.

I can't fully commit yet either.Truthfully if we were to go elsewhere I think Holiday Hotel is the closest to what we have as far as rockers in front of the rooms and parking and price.Michaels other hotels appear to have a single gathering area and I just don't know if everyone would enjoy that as much.Just my observation and opinion.

I have to agree with Marc... while BW has declined the past couple years. only reason I liked it was proximity the group had to gather in the evenings. I am a frequent traveler of Choice hotels, they dont offer the gathering places. for those reasons i would go with Holiday Hotel as Marc says... my 2 cents .....send my change lol

Here's what I've found out so far about the the 2 motels and their rates which are the group rates.

Best Western Mountainbrook Inn - Continental Breakfast included, doesn't seem to be a full breakfast like we're used to

Sunday August 31 $93.99
Mon 9/1 thru Wed 9/3 $99.99
Thur 9/4 $124.99

I checked direct booking through their website and found rates around $85 per night

Holiday Motel across from the fairgrounds, this where it gets a little weird, right now they've got 11 rooms available. Nothing for breakfast on site.

4 rooms with 2 full beds $90 Mon-Wed $100 on Thursday
2roooms with king beds $90 Mon-Wed $100 on Thursday
4 rooms with 2 queens $100 Mon-Wed $120 on Thursday
1 2 bedroom suite $139 Mon-Wed $159 on Thursday

I checked direct booking and found the rooms were around $94 but prices go up on Thursday

So, lets chime in about which hotel is best suited for our group unless someone else has a preference. I don't want to influence anyone but our choice would be the BW and booking on their website.

Not that it works perfectly but booking as a group is how we get most of our rooms together. How would that work with direct booking?

I would guess that when we call to book say that we need to be on ground floor out front Marc, maybe try to reserve the rooms we had last year. Let me check with Jo Ann, she has worked in a couple of hotels and see what she says.

She would have more knowledge than I for sure.I was more thinking about the booking on their site for the cheaper rate and the unintended consequences. Booked a hotel on my own once prior to coming to Maggie Valley so my knowledge of the workings aren't much.
