Maggie Valley 2024

Things are starting to look up for me. I was able to clear my schedule up for Mon through Fri. I would probably leave home early Mon morning but will most likely stop in maybe Berea for the night then show up sometime Tue. I'm looking at also staying at the Best Western. That will give me a couple days to hang out and finally meet some folks. Fri I will have to leave early to head back and need to try and make it home in one day. Good thing is I will gain an hour on return trip so that will help.
Sounds good. Be nice to see ya again.

I tried calling hotel this afternoon and after several attempts with just the phone ringing, someone finally answered. I asked if there was any way to get the group rate even though it is very late. I was told to call back tomorrow and speak with lady who set up the group rate and check with here. Worst comes to worst, I checked online and saw that I could get a rate of $91 plus tax which isn't too much higher and that 3 rooms were still available. Fingers crossed that I can get the group rate but if not, oh well...

I called Best Western today and got a reservation from Tue Sep 3rd to Fri Morn Sep 6th. They were gracious enough to even give me the group rate! So I will leave home early Mon and stop in Berea KY for the night and already reserved a place there. I should get to Maggie Valley sometime late morning on Tue. It will be nice to meet some new folks. I wish I was able to fit in the whole week but unfortunately, life happens.

I live in East Tennessee on the Cumberland plateau looks like about 2 1/2 hours away, if I didn't have a cruise scheduled in September Might think about going to this.
Maybe next year. I will have some miles on my trike by then and should be up for a good ride if the wife is game.

Look forward to seeing you.
Be aware, We usually leave on the rides around 10AM. So late am you may not see any of us for a few hours.
Don't worry, we usually come back.🤪

Yeah I kind of expected that. Not sure if I will make it by then but usually I can find something to occupy my time until riders start filtering back.

Our old truck decided to stop at Rocky Top TN and go no further. Repair shops will not be open until tuesday. Then depending on whats wrong, it could be out of service for most of the week. We cancelled our spot at Cross Creek and are staying at a KOA in Clinton TN, just a mile from the diesel shop.

I saw another trike in the CG, and may stop and see where he rides.
Will miss seeing you guys but we are at least safe and warm 99Âş

That sucks. I had same thing happen to me driving my Chevy pickup in middle of nowhere Alabama back in Mar while headed to Southwestern Georgia. Luckily I had met up with a buddy the night before and he was following me. Truck got towed to dealer and was told I needed a new transmission. Got it done in less than a week and I was able to head back home again. I feel your pain...

Sounds like your in a decent spot at least and can make the best of it.Theres some good riding in that area so some ride ride reports would be cool.Hate this happened and you guys will be missed.

John, sorry to hear about your truck. Sounds like you are going to find some good rides where you are at though...

We're home.Trike, truck, and trailer put away.Relaxing in my chair.Hopefully Mike heals up quick and John and Jan's truck gets fixed up and Ray's trike starts to behave. Thanks to Mike for leading the rides and everybody who had anything to do with this.Hopefully we all get to do it again next year.

We're in Tifton, GA for the night, boy did we hit some rain on the way, hope Bill, Janiene, Randy and Connie didn't get too wet riding north. John and Jan, bummer on the breakdown, missed you guys. Pwhoever, hoping your recovery is swift and Ray finally gets a tune that will make his trike happy. We should be home tomorrow night.
