Help with Carb jetting

I have a VW trike. I have just got a new pair of weber 34 ICT carbs. my question is what size jets should be in them.the engine is from a 1974 beetle 1600cc twin port.the jets that are in them from new are:-

55 idle

150 Main

F78 Emulsion Tub

175 Air corrector

175 needle valve

40 Pump jet

will they be ok and what difference would changing them make.

Do I need a balance tube from one to the other

I have not ever tuned a set of dual single barrels...... I always go bigger.

A lot of folks talk bad about itc's ...... I don't get it..... just a carb.

Dual singles like to idle on only two cylinders. The balance tube helps, but if everything is perfect it don't make a diff. But it does hide or smooth out tuning problems. I would not hesitate to use a balance tube.... it would have to be fairly large ID though.
