My post to Don -
Don, a bunch of us usually get together for breakfast at Long Shots on Saturday morning. I know there was talk of going to the Hot Biscuit diner (in addition or instead of, don't remember) and meeting on a different day this year, but nothing firm yet. Saturday works best for me personally so I don't know if I'll be able to do another day, but be sure to join the group if you can! Great way to reconnect after the long winter months!

Ladyff, Tis, and/or I usually post the info in the Trikes & 3Wheeler section of the Americade forum, and the info is usually always available in the Rallys & Rides section here on Trike Talk.

Ladyff's post -
We seem to get flack every year from people that want to be in the parade when we have breakfast. Maybe this year we can skip breakfast and just take a ride up to the biscuit for strawberry shortcake. Let everyone do the parade and party at the ranch (or where ever it will be this year) then a mid afternoon get to together for all of us. We might just get a few more Trikers if we do it that way and it's a break from our usual. As Jim & I are Americade volunteers, we need a plan as soon as we can arrange one.

Joanne's plan sounds good to me, and she's right that more trikers might be able to participate that way. The more trikers we can get to join us, the more we can spread the word about TrikeTalk! ;) I can't guarantee that I'll be able to be there if it's an afternoon gathering - depends on if I can afford a room this time or if I'm stuck doing a day trip again (I'll have a better idea in January after I call a few hotels/motels) - but I'll definitely do my best to join everyone wherever!! ThumbUp

John, they're doing maintenance on the site, so some things aren't showing right now such as pictures and the chat box.

Before this gets to far out of hand. I still have my Ultra & have no plans on parting with it. Victory story originated @ the Rally this past August when Dan & I were talking about Victory building there own Trike. We both agreed that it was going to be a sweet ride, so over the course of the weekend we kept kidding each other, & his Lovely bride had other plans (new horse) so somehow the Victory was being sent this way(actually to store for Dan) so I still have my Ultra/Hannigan ride which I love to RIDE!!!!!!!

I was kidding, but with the smiley's not working due to the site maintenance, I didn't bother with the wink! LOL See you at Americade?

I agree with not having the breakfast, instead ride in the parade with the section for trikes ( we'll meet new trrikers). Then take a ride (hot biscuits) maybe with some new folks.
Coach

I'd like to propose a plan for our Americade ride. Meet at 2pm on Saturday at the Rite Aid on Canada St (that's where all the Trikers meet to line up for the parade.) Ride up to Hot Biscuit and probably we'll be back by about 5-6pm. I just wanted to get this out there now because registration starts on Feb. 1. What does everyone think?

Unless something happens to change the plans, Honey and I will not be attending Americade. Hope to see you all in Aug. Make plans and have a good ride . Wish I could be there.

Would this take the place of breakfast Saturday? I'll do whatever cause I'm going to be there, was just wondering about Dan, Cheri, & whoever ride up for the breakfast meeting for the day..... John we'll miss you but we'll see you in August...

I was working on finding a place for Wed-Fri nights, but I'll see about Thur-Sat nights instead, and Deb & Bruce said Joanne's plan is perfect for them. If I can do that, I'll still meet you for coffee/breakfast if you want Tis! That way Dan or whoever rides up for the day can join us too.

Jim & I may be working at the bbq/parade so the breakfast will probably be out for us. The events will be finished around noon so a nice afternoon ride and strawberry shortcake are what we're looking forward to.

I think planning both the breakfast & afternoon ride should continue. Maybe some new trikers might prefer one over the other.

I would love to have a flyer that we could have at the registration table that would advertise our afternoon trike ride, maybe the breakfast too except will have to see how that goes over with Americade because our breakfast event is always at the same time as the parade and bbq. Don't know if Americade would allow it since we are not associated with them. Maybe hand some flyers to trikers when they arrive for registration out the the parking lot? I'll check with the coordinators at Americade and see what they'll allow.

Sounds good, we'll do breakfast & the ride up to the Hot Biscuit. Hopefully people will see the posts on here & Americade boards.......I'm really suprised sometimes that some people never heard of Americade......

Tis, for all that they bill themselves "the largest", I still believe most think of Sturgis or Daytona (MAYBE Laconia) when they think of bike rallies, mostly because of the notoriety (sp?) those rallies have had in past years. Compared to them, Americade is rather bland. No gangs, knife fights, murders, riots, public nudity, etc, to catch headlines. ;)

Anyway, we can plan on spreading the word about breakfast at Long Shots (10 still good?) for those who want to join us, and the ride/lunch up to Hot Biscuit later in the day. I usually start a post on the Americade board about February, so I'm glad we can get this all nailed down now. :)

Meeting up for the ride - I'll post that the meetup is at Rite Aid, and wheels turning at 2pm. Sound good to everyone?

Late this year, but I finally got the post on the Americade site. Hopefully we'll have a lot show up, for one or the other! :)

And for the inevitable kink in the plans....Long Shots apparently is no more. I read on a travel site that they had closed, so I tried to call and sure enough the phone has been disconnected.

Tis, any suggestions where we can meet for breakfast?? I like the restaurant outside the Lake Crest Inn, but they're always packed. There's also another breakfast place further up Rt 9 (right at the fork - not sure if it's N or L). Those are the only other places I've had breakfast before.

Re: Breakfast "Joints"

Going north from Lake George Village on Lake Shore Dr (9N) - about 2 or 3 miles (?) on the right is the "Lone Bull Restaurant". Great place for for breakfast - if there is a wait, it usually isn't too long as service is quick which helps the "turnover". Hope this may be helpful. ThumbUp

Yea, thats what I was thinking, Lone Bull, or Marios right before the split heading North, or what about the place Pospect Mtn. Diner, don't know if thats what it is still called. But the Lone Bull probably would be the best bet. I know Mario's has a great Buffet breakfast.........My wife is still seeing a couple of Doctor's for her back & she's going to therapy. It look's like we'll have to trailer if we're able to go.....
