Americade 2013

What a GREAT turnout - I am SO glad I didn't let the weather stop me from joining everyone!!! I wish I'd had my trike with me, but many thanks to Joanne (ladyff) for chauffering me for the afternoon! A very filling breakfast with old friends, and a pleasant ride and dinner (and desert!! ) with a terrific group of people - just an all around fantastic day for me!! :D Let me add my thanks to everyone who joined us - both the TrikeTalk members and nonmembers. I truly wish we could do this more often!!

Pictures were taken, and I'm sure they'll be posted as people have time. ;)

Did you get any new people to sign up for the NE TT Rally?
Can't wait to see a few pictures. What do u fig was the count?
Sure the first year it didn't rain or did it? And could not be there:gah:

I believe we had 11 people there - most already already TrikeTalk members, and the few who weren't were there with members. Tis, Sally (Tis' wife), Coach, Joanne, Jim (Joanne's husband), and me. I am TERRIBLE with names, so I'm missing the rest of the group, but I think (hope?!) Joanne can fill in the rest for me.

It drizzled a bit before we left, and once or twice during our ride. Rained while we were inside eating. But still an awesome afternoon! :D I don't think it rained last year either, so maybe we're doing something right? LOL

Thank you to Cheri and Joanne, good to see both of you and Jim, Dave (Tis) and his wife. My friend Jack from NJ, all the other people were from the Poconos. They stay at the same place as we do in Lake George. Thank goodness I saw the size of the strawberry shortcake before I ordered, so Cheri and I shared one, more than enough for two people nd it was great.

My Bride and I were at Americade and it started raining Thursday night and never quit until Friday night. The parade on Saturday was considerably smaller than last year. I saw a lot of bikes leaving on trailers Friday. I could be wrong but I think the attendance was down this year. I had a GREAT time and looking forward to next year.

I don't think you're wrong - attendance DID seem way down! Granted I only went there two days, but I didn't run into nearly the crowds I usually do, I saw parking along Canada St that I never see, and neither Expo was shoulder-to-shoulder as it has been in the past. There also didn't seem to be as many vendors at either Expo location.

On a plus, I saw TONS more trikes!!! ThumbUp

Trikes are becoming very popular even for the younger riders.

Had fun @ beakfast & the Ride in the afternoon. I developed a problem from my radiation treatment the friday before our breakfast meeting & the ride. By the time we got back to the Motel from the ride I was in some serious pain & had to make arrangements to get back to my doctor, was long trip home as I had to keep pulling over, he did a procedure on that monday & put me on a prescription so now I'm just taking it easy, will keep in touch. Nice seeing you all....

Tis, sorry to hear that!! I didn't realize you were having treatments, that IS rough!! Much as I hope this doesn't stop you from joining us in August, your health is more important, so please take it easy and take care of yourself.
