Americade 2013

I would like to plan a ride up to the Hot Biscuit in Ticonderoga leaving at 2pm from the Rite Aid on 9N. What does everyone else have to say about this?
Lone Bull sounds good. I am sure we can find it.

There is a Log cabin style restaurant on the way to the TPee on the left. Right after the waterpark on Fish hatchery lane .1/4 mile past the indoor Expo on the same side. Nelson and I ate there a few times. Big parking lot . Do not forget the parade will limit your travel. Have fun.

Joanne, I thought we already decided to do this on Saturday - no? Did something change and I missed it? (Wouldn't surprise me a bit! LOL)

Since I'll only be there for the day, I'm not sure if I'll be able to ride all the way to the Biscuit, but I'll do what I can! Should have no problem with breakfast though, depending on the time.

OK, so Lone Bull restaurant for breakfast (time?), and a ride to Hot Biscuit Diner at 2pm? Confirmed??

Americade begins this weekend, can't wait. I'll be there Sun. to Sun. Joanne and Jim I will get in touch with when I am at our place. Hope to see John back in front of Bob's ice cream each night.

Sorry. John will not be attending AMERICADE in the very near future, toooooo complicated to get Dialysis done when we are up there.

Just in case Janice's back is OK, are there any rooms available for a Friday night stay? So we can be up there for the breakfast and the ride.
Thanks.

Rosy, depends on where you want to stay. Check out the Accommodations postings on the Americade forum - there's always listings for availabilities. The problem is that a lot of places IN Lake George (especially along Canada St) want a 3 or 4 night minimum, so you may have to stay "outside" the village proper.

Went up to americade today for venders, saw Ladyff1481 and husband Jim up there. Was it hot, if I had rode up there I would never had made it home, we drove cause of my heart and the heat it would have been too much for me. Did see places with rooms open on main drag.

Vendors today...? I knew it was a full week ,but I thought the vendors were starting on Sun or Mon. Yea! H O T I recorded 100 on my weather station. 96 in the shade. It was 40 last week.

Great to see Jonesy and Linda today. Lots of good vendors at the beach. My fav was Betty's Cakes (pink double decker bus in the back end of the beach.) YUMMY cupcakes!
Somebody said Elvis was in Lake George but I haven't seen him yet.

Joanne you better not be eating all the cupcakes, leave some for the rest of us. Heading up tomorrow, will see you then.

Rosie send me a pm I might be able to help

Ladyff asked me to post this - that's her on the left, Linda (Jonesy's wife) in the middle, and Jonesy. Great picture everyone, looks like a beautiful day in Lake George! :)

Thanks for that picture, it was nice day for americade. But it got way too hot in the sun. Riding up there and spending time walking around and riding home afterward isn't for the weak at heart, and we drove up there. Rosy, you could get a room if you look around south of town. I've done it a few times. I've stayed one time in Queensbury and one time in Saratoga Springs when I went up at the last minute.

We had a heat wave yesterday and monsoon rains today. It can't get much worse unless it snows this week but I doubt that because they got snow last week. Bring it on. There are lots of Trikers here already.

So....typical Americade weather, right? ;) What's wrong with me that I'm wishing I could be there in spite of the weather?? LOL

I meet the nicest people there! ;)

Headed up to Americade on Thursday to visit with Joanne & have lunch. She had a couple of errands to run, so I went to visit the Expo & took a short ride, then after a couple of missed connections we finally got together, and she told me she had found another TrikeTalker - oldmsocko was there too! So while she finished her last errand, I sat and had a nice chat with him & his lovely wife, then Joanne and I went for lunch. It started to drizzle a bit during lunch, and I figured the rain storm was coming in quicker than expected, so I decided to head home at that point, but what a great day!! Nice weather for the most part, great company, and a few hundred miles on the tires - what more could you ask for on a weekday vacation day! ThumbUp

Can't wait to head back tomorrow and see who else I can meet up with! :D

We were there Tues thru Thurs and saw many trikes, but most were "on the move". Found a few "parked with riders", stopped to say hello and passed out some contact cards. All were very nice, receptive folks and (I believe) all had never heard of TrikeTalk (amazing). Also left a few cards on parked trikes with no rider around. Anyway, we should qualify for our "Merit Badge" for trying. :D

Take group picture. You all have cell phones right? I am not there to do it this year... Have fun see you in Aug. don't forget to mention NE TT rally to new Trikers..
