What did you do to your Trike this week?

That is great a Jim!

I have noticed as I get older, my eyes do not let in light like the use to. I was able to see at night when younger, but now, I need all the light I can get to see.

Notice it big time on a rainy dark night, more so than other nights, when everything seems very-very dark.

So, make the night, light again, by adding more lumens to the front of the trike. LOL

Old People Rule!

Rosy

Most people will put on brighter lights so they can see further, And then in turn will drive faster and then the braking distant will be closer, So the'll wind up hitting the deer a little sooner. Just human nature...

Good point rhino 2, but as you get older, speed is not as important as getting there safely, I believe. I know, there are still "hot rods" out there, and there always will be.

Maybe is the fact, that as you get older you realize you don't heal as fast as you did when younger, so you try to ovoid getting hurt. I know coming back from health issues, take longer than it use to, even from 5 years ago.

More lumens in front means better safety for some, but greater danger for others! LOL

Yep, Plus one on the don't heal as fast....And it also hurts more... :shok:

Yea now we think about the what if's about what could go wrong. When we were younger we just went out and were stupid. Luckily most of the time we got away with it. I have caught myself several times taking the TRI up to 100 MPH and then thinking what if a dog or some other critter came out and then slowed down. In the old days I would of just keep right on pushing.

Does this happen to anyone else... It a rare moment when i'm in a stupid mode, And blasting along...A little bird in my head will sometimes say slow down stupid , And just like clock work as soon as i do , There will be a deer or something in the road, Or a Cop hiding off to the side...

It's like that little bird knew what was up ahead. and is given me a wake-up call..:xzqxz::xzqxz:

Your right about the little birdy, I was going down I-95, the other day doing 80mph, when you start thinking about what would happen if this..and that happened..then you slow down...

Is it old age, or you are wiser than you were a few years prior!

Mortality ..the quality or state of being a person or thing that is alive and therefore certain to die : the quality or state of being mortal, you don't think about it when your young and..dumb!

Sometimes there is a point in time, When the thrill of speed...

Is overriden by the fear of death.......:cxtv:

Back on topic:Shrug:

Changed engine oil on Monday, anticipating a short weekend ride.

With 5-10" of anticipated snow arriving tomorrow into Saturday, the first of April, don't think I'll be riding this weekend now:(

HOPEFULLY I'll wakeup Saturday, to find that the weathermen were playing an APRIL FOOLS day trick on me with all the snow...

Poor Pete, get your Push-em snow truck ready Pete, it is going to be very heavy from all indications!

At least you got the oil changed and you are ready at a moments notice! :clapping:

See you soon Pete.

Havent heard anything from your Southern NH neighbor Dennis on what trailer he has decided on.

Had my Heathen trike inspected the other day. It passed without any issue.

Spent more time talking to the guys abut how I built it and the one I am building now then we did on the inspection

On the new build I mounted the Turbo 400 transmission to the engine and now I am working out the angles and drive shaft length

Any pictures you would like to share with us of your old and new rides? Love to see them.

Yes, know what you mean about speaking to the "inspector", as you get your ride inspected. Do you have a flat fee for your inspection or does the shop set the rate? Ours, the shop sets the rate, which can be from a low of $25 to a high of $40 per year.

I take my to a mostly Harley shop, which has the lowest price. The first time I took it in, he looked at it and said, this thing is a beast of my 1800 Hannigan trike. Where do I start, then he said, let's start with the horn, and both of us laughed!

Have a great day!

There aren't any inspections of Motorcycles or Trikes in NJ, The state did away with them years ago...But when they did it was a joke .. It went like this. Bring the bike to the grumpy inspector And he says..Turn on your lights, Turn on your turn singles, Blow the horn... Then they hit you with the ''Got'ya'' ' Let me see your helmet it has to have reflective tape visible from all sides. Even though the helmet manufacture says adding tape to the the helmet might compromise the safety of the helmet and will void the warranty!! And then if you pass cool your heels while grumpy takes his sweet ass time to come back out with a new inspection sticker.....Glad they did away with inspections..

Flat rate of $13 for a Motorcycle and $15 for a car

The Heathen Trike (the one I ride now) can be seen here http://www.3fowlers.com

The new trike build can be seen here http://www.triketalk.com/forum/threads/35590-88-blazer-trike

N.Y. Requires all lights including add ons to work, tire tread, excessive noise:Shrug:, no ape hangers allowed, no helmet check. All for $8.00. And Gota put that nasty sticker on the LF fork.

Oh yah, forgot, need brakes.

Some ones got to pay for the Albany lunches :Dorag:

They do a fairly good job in NH on inspections, because if anything happens to trike or bike that may cause an accident, the shop can get sued!

They even check born date on tires, now days. My 88 Shadow needs front tire because of born date.

Sued ! That only holds water for 30days.

Picked the trike up today!!

I had taken it to the dealership March 4th for the rear break recall work to be performed.

What did they do to the brake system to take that long, or is the shop that busy?

Did they have to order parts? That take a while at some shops, why, I don't know?

Hogmemberisold, now you are ready for riding, or is there more to do to your ride?

Rosy

Always finding something to do to the trike..thanks to desertclassic got the lens film for my passing lamps. Went with amber since I changed the clear blinkers back to old style amber. Also installed some Kuryakyn lower fork shields which they don't make anymore for a 93 but found a dealer that had ONS ton of dust on the package. Installed upper leather fork shields from Chilhowee Leather. Purchased a Get back Whip to match the colors of the trike removed the heavy clasp from it as not to go foul of LEO here in Ca. That's about it this month try to do something every month.;)rsz_20170404_180731-1.jpg

Great job on the bling! Chrome looks good..

Oil change and plugs. How often do you change your plugs? Do you use standard plugs or hotter plugs to go the way you ride.

I wanted plugs to give me longer life and more power..tuner said you don't need more power, you never use all the HP you got on your Wing... Why spend the extra money...

OK, trust him..

Good tuners save you money! LOL

2002 Hannigan GL 1800 Rear Wheels

Had a tire shop bugger up one of my Pacer rims while putting new tires on. The 2002 Hannigan takes a 15x6.5 42-44mm off set rear mag wheels. Tire shop cant find any Pacer wheels to mTch what I had. They put a set of Americans on and the tire rubs, enough to wear the side wall. Two questions:

1. Has anyone replaced the rear mag wheels on a 2002 Hannigan, or early conversion?

2. Shop is going to machine the American wheels by 4mm to 6mm to get an off set to clear the fenders, will this hurt the wheel's strength?

Thanks for you info,

Rosy

Today I changed plugs and went for as warm up ride and changed oil and filter

Well, that's a great idea, but in my case since I change oil and filter low to the ground, every time I heat the oil, it gets on my hands and it is hot. So now, just start it for a little while then change the oil, just enough to get the oil warm, not hot!

Who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks!
