Maggie Valley 2015

The weather reports are starting to look like just a slight chance of rain Sunday and possibly Monday and pretty much clear Tues, Wed and Thursday so this is shaping up well. There is always a chance of a shower in the mountains, but the forecast looks like we will be blessed with clear skys most of the week.

Marge and I will be headed out of Texas on Friday AM and will be arriving in Maggie Valley Saturday afternoon after stopping to visit relatives on the way. I will be pre-riding our routes on Sunday to get a better idea of the best route, stops and time to complete. If anyone will be there early and wants to ride along with me on Sunday, let me know either via PM or call me. My cell phone number for any of you that want to ride with me, have questions or need to reach me before, during or after the event is (346)800-7946.

Well the gremilin's have been busy in my Stallion, coolant leak, a/c fan running 12hrs. after parking and putting keys in the house! Got the fan to stop, plugged in the battery charger and the led's on both sides of the front wheel started to flash?
I think that I'm going to saddleup the F150, for that no suprise ride , not the same but worry free. See you guys soon!!

Here are the 8" self adhesive targets I got for the BUG-BULLS-EYE competition. Each rider will be given a target to affix to your trike and who ever is the best (luckiest) bug hunter will win a $50 cash prize.

Say, can you get a target to me before we leave on Monday for Maggie Valley? I will do some riding at night and I am sure I can get some bulls eyes this time of year! Too bad I wasn't coming from FL, there is a ton of bugs down that a way!Bugs aside, Sara and I are looking forward to coming to the "gathering." We will leave at 7:30am and should be there around 9:30 with our Toyota Corolla trike!I pray that everyone travels safely!Dave (CD) (Chaplain Dave)

I hate to say it, but I just cancelled my reservation at the Micro tel for the rally. I have to move my Mom to Sr. Living and my daughter and son-in-law to AL. I hate to miss this one but maybe we can make the spring rally. I hope everyone has a great trip and safe travels.

Instead of the words I would like to type, I will instead type #$#@!, $&$$@#%.
The reason? 80 miles from home. Not sure where oil is going, but oil pressure is not right. I don't believe it would make it home from NJ. Using the AMA Moto towing and paying difference to my house. If I continued, I am confident engine would have blown.
Soooooo, not riding down. However, after dropping off in morning at HD, I will trailer my old 2-wheeler down to rally. Not sure what day yet.

What is her name tonight? LOL

Rosy
The trikes name now is a lot worse than "Bitch", I can tell you that. I would say the new name, but I don't want any retired sailors to blush. Or any of the NSA guys reading this post either.:AGGHH:

Carolyn is packing tonight. We are leaving sometime tomorrow morning. We know it will be a hot ride down....I reminded Carolyn about hydration and pneumonia. Coming home may be cool and wet...we shall see. See all of you there!

I'm kind of hoping for a new engine at this point. Dropped TG at HD before driving to MV. Mechanic is thinking along those lines.

Extended warranty going to cover most of it, or are you paying the bill.
How many miles do you have on this engine?
Good luck and I hope your B gets better! LOL
Did you gave a safe drive in your truck to MV? No problems?
Give Diane our best.

Should still be warrantee. 86,600 miles.
We are North of Maggie Valley, in Johnson City, TN for night. Good thing I called Best Western. When I talked to them a couple days ago, I was told there were plenty of rooms if I arrived early. They lied.Would have been out of luck if I got there tonight.

We got here about 6:30 and the was a NO VACANCIES sign on the hotel lobby door, but we had early reservations. The town is packed full of people. Labor day weekend.

They tried to get me. My reservation isn't until Sunday. They said it wouldn't be a problem getting there early. I called Sat from Johnson City, TN. Told booked solid. Got a room here. Only 90 or so miles awaý. Dianne gets to sleep as late as she wants.

That could still happen.

Unless I get a new engine out of the deal, compliments of HD warranty.

Left SW MO about 9 this am, across southern Missouri on Hwy 60. Found the bridge over the Mississippi on 60 was closed, went north over the I 57 bridge which brought is through Cairo. That town might have been the jewel of the Mississippi in the paddle wheel days, but now, not even cubic zirconium.
Got caught in a quick rain short of Nashville. Had to pull up under a bridge after a *bit of trailer wagging the trike hydroplaning and rain hard enough even a*few cars joined us in the shelter of the overpass. Storm passed, we continued on and are holed up in Lebanon TN. Short 3 1/2 hour ride to Maggie Valley tomorrow. Good trip so far.*

The Misses and I will be coming in on Wednesday afternoon, leaving Friday morning. The only thing is we will be in in our cage coming from Ohio to Florida. We are really looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well Tom, Jerry, Cathy, and the girls went one way, Zook, Scott, Carolyn, Bozo, Di, and about twenty others went a different way. The last group choose to do there own thing! I had the honor of hitting four shops between Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and now Ashville trying to find Ray Monroe a new helmet. Seems that his old old bounced down I65 on the way down, ouch.

Well we have done what we set out to do, found a nice full face, added a blue-tooth, intercom setup so that he can talk with Cathy on the ride home. All in all a good day, and Ray spoke with one salesman at length about the SlingShot that they had on display.

I think we are next going to meet up the the group at the casino in Cherokee, for dinner. :clapping:
