Would You Buy a New Harley Trike?

You should never shop in a supermarket when your hungry....But does that work when you stop in a Harley Dealer and they have a few brand new shiny Trikes sitting there...And the 114 engine has a lot more get up and go than the previous engines 'And right out of the box to boot.......

drop in the 447 Torque cam and hold on!

I made a mistake today, happened to stop by the dealership for some refreshment and bathroom break. They had several 2021 trikes on the floor, my buddy Greg who was with us goaded me into asking for a test drive, what the hell, why not. My 15 is the only trike we've been on and we like it even after 6 years but the '21 we took out was fantastic. Shifting was so smooth and the power with the newer engine was great and there was a lot of torque. We wouldn't have a problem with a new HD trike, 6 years and only 2 minor problems, my 1 year old SUV has been in the shop 3 times in 1 year. We shall see what develops, lol.

Here's the voices Gary. "not the cvo,get the Tri".:xszpv:

Nope.

I personally don't want anything to do with ABS brakes on a Tri Glide.

That's basically the main reason I'll stay with my 2017

No… This I the last trike no matter who the manufacturer is… The dollar cost for fun at my age is not worth the price.

And that said I just last week bought a new Honda Side By.

Ie; Fun on a different playing ground..👍👍

Yup, bought a 21 cvo last fall. The clock is ticking for me and decided I should have one more brand new bike. Last new one was a 2001 Classic I had for about 13 years.

I did just that

Would you buy a new Harley Trike, Why and or why not?

Bought a new 2021 Freewheeler in October 2021.

Why?

1. Legs are not always there when I stop a two-wheeler

2. Balance is not always there when I roll a two-wheeler down the ramp from my shop

3. 3 wheels eliminate those embarrassing moments

4. Because the wife can use the trunk as a coffin when she buries me and my bike

NO. Bought a deceased friends' 2015 Tri Glide from his daughter who let it sit outside for 4 years. Have completely enjoyed redoing everything on it, love riding it. Will never grace mother Harley with any more of my money if there is an aftermarket solution. Learned lesson when it took 5 months to get manuals.

That would be a big NO. If anything I would look for a low milage Twin Cam Road Glide and have a trike kit put on it.

I did just what you stated. I bought a 2001 Roadglide from a good friend of mine in 2007. It was well maintained and had about 40,000 miles on it at the time. In 2016, I had a Champion trike kit installed and now have nearly 100,000 total miles on the bike and never regretted it.

I was in the market for a new Harley trike - had just purchased a new 2021 Ultra. Dealer wanted almost $10,000 over MSRP for the CVO - and said my bike was good for wholesale.

As I thought about our earlier GoldWing trike with the MotorTrike conversion, I decided to look at converting my 2021. TriGlide uses the Lehman platform - straight axel whereas CSC used an independent action. Also looked at the CSC for the rake kit plus, added the running boards

Nope. My body cant take the beatings anymore and cost to get it to where you can stand to ride it would cost a fortune.

Maybe one day I will get the 96 DFT conversion pulled out of the corner and refurb it :D .

Nope, way too much money. Been riding a 1986 Electraglide with a Lehman Tour conversion for several years now. After a few changes to accommodate some physical maladies and a new stereo (not sure why I bothered), I have it just the way I like it. And besides, it has something the new ones don't. A clear title. :D

PEACE and ride safe!:Dorag:

Nope I don’t think I’ll ever buy a new trike from any manufacturer.

and it’s not because of price or quality it’s just I find myself riding my trike less and less as the years go by…

I bought my current 14 TG with 30000 miles on it and Mrs Notgrownup and I like it but are not die hard riders. Rode it 4 hours Sunday and really still love it . Now that I’ve swapped the shocks for 14” Pro Action and replaced the fork fluids with a bit heavier than stock and built myself a trailer we can do more with it. I pretty much work on it myself. Still have my 07 Flhtc so I can still ride 2 wheels when I want. Don’t see the need for new or even newer for now but retirement is about 6 years away… never say never. I like that I can easily get service and buy parts for it being All HD. Ride is really smoother with the better shocks. Way better.

Was in a dealership last Thursday buying another waterpump cover (4th One) and they had a used 2021 CVO Trike on the floor. Took a quick look on my way to the parts counter and the salesman that sold me my 17 trike came up and ask if I wanted to trade and I told him NO. It had just over 12K miles and a few extras and it was priced at $52,000.

Sure, if I needed one. I've never been one to flit between vehicles. I rode my '78 Shovel for 33 years. My daily driver is still my '99 Jeep. My '21 Freewheeler suits me just fine. If I were in the market they'd be top of my list.

Almost New Harley purchase

Ya know I'm new to the site and have been taking in lot of the comments on buying new Tri Glide. Couldn't agree more to the guys are saying over priced. Yeah they are getting high but being a little savy might be the answer to some. I've ridden two wheelers all my life up till 5 years ago and had to park two wheelers cause of hip replacement. Friend of mine told me you'll either love them or hate them cause they are 100% different than what you are use to. So thought well if I can find one well maintained in nice shape if it don't work out shouldn't loose the farm.

After lookin at lot trikes on Craigs List and Ebay and Harley Dealers found 09 low miles at a Harley dealer on consignment that they originally sold to customer. It was a keeper and I did for 5 years and then decided to upgrade. Looked for 19 and up at dealers with in 200 miles of my location. Found quite a few and one that slipped through the cracks. So back to lookin...found 21 less than 200 miles few xtras.

Priced way less than a new one but this was just like new and I'm dam particular bout my vehicles. So I hooked up my 14' enclosed trailer and headed for " TIOGA COUNTY HARLEY-DAVIDSON " in Mansfield, PA. The Tri Glides and other bikes are out there but ya got dig and ask questions. If there's maintance records it taken off list right now....

Just my 2cents worth

Long time ago, I pulled into a gas station on a Goldwing Aspencade. Due to traffic, I had to step off of it. No problem, I was young and strong.

Fast forward many years, I had to step off of my 2012 Electra Glide Classic at a Stop Sign. Big problem. I had to have help to lift it.

I was scared every time I rode, that I would pull up to a Stop Sign and have to step off for some reason. Without a passenger to help, that would be a big problem.

I really liked my 2 wheeler, but a soft tail standard it was not. I used my 2012 as a trade in.

I am a brand new Freewheeler owner.
