What did you do to your Trike this week?

Lucky, you didn't call Janice to come help you with the new headlight. You were able to get your hand in there, I can't very well, so I need her help. LOL
Yes, I had the same happen to my trailer, but it was at the plug. One of the wires broke the solder connection. No short, just off and on, had to go through the whole bundle, before I took the plug apart, never thought the solder would break, but it did!
Road grime is a must to get off, and at times it takes a while to get down to the paint. Now your Baby is pretty again! LOL

rode it a lot. the ultra cooler I put on a few weeks ago works real well. fans kick on about 230*. kicked on at a gas stop. I think solved my heat problem now that the weather is going to get cooler.

Can you post pictures. As a Goldwing owner, I would like to see what it looks like.
Thanks.

I replaced the front tire at the dealer so I know they used the correct tire and rotation. I also had them install the ceramic beads for balancing. Also, my wife likes the "sheep-type" seat pad Rosy has on his trike so I bought a custom fit sheep skin from Hartco. I love it but my wife thinks it's too expensive. She rode on it once and her back was sore the next day, not an unusual thing, and she's blaming it on the seat. I'm pretty sure she's determined not to like it because I actually spent money!

Don't forget Brian, we have gel seats from Walmart under the sheep skin to make it softer. This may help Cynthia not be sore while riding. Janice likes her gel pad she rides on. It cost $20 each, so not very expensive in case you don't like them.
We have done the NH to VA, 12 hours in the saddle, trip a few times with no problems. I also have 1/2 foam pads cut to fit the contour of the seat in case we want to change sitting positions, but we have never used them.
We also have the stock seat from Mother Honda on our 1800, which lots of people say they are very hard and uncomfortable. Go figure! LOL

She actually liked the original seat which is still under the cover. I had a couple of scuff marks on it that drove me crazy. She says the fact that the very back of the seat pushes her forward a little bit, because it's thicker, and changes her leg position slightly. Very slightly. I think it will flatten out once it gets broken in.

Maybe she will need the pegs Janice has, so she can shift her feet from one position to another. Janice loves them.

John, it looks like a push fan, is it? A push fan forces the air through the cylinders and in some other cases there are fans which draw air through.
I wonder if in a hot day this air goes back into the rider? Could get hot in places! LOL

I installed this bully bumper step for the hitch on my Champion trike. It comes with LED's , but they are not too bright and there are only 7 LEDs. I replaced those with a 40 LED strip from Custom Dynamics...I also put a brake flasher on the circuit....it now acts as a mini bumper and as an added brake light. The bumper saved my downturned pipes once already when I misjudged a curb when backing up.

No problem, had to check if there were any leaks. 200 miles would be a good test! LOL
hope you enjoyed your trip.

I think this us the cooling fan they spoke of Rosy

I have one of these it is a leNails parade fan. no thermostat. just turn it on as needed. works o.k.in slow traffic . it blows are across the cylinders, wasn't enough for the summer heat of long rides then getting off the highway into traffic.
the ultra cooler I have on now has cooler coils and a thermostat that turns on the dual fans at about 230* so far I like it a lot better. it also mounts just under the regulator and is out of sight except for the chrome housing . the price was similar.

I will try to get some pics tonight .

Wiped her down with Wizzard spray (love that stuff), checked the fluids and tire pressures, put new grips on, mounted a drink holder on the left lower and a leather pouch on the right lower. Now it's time for a little ride.

OK, I give up, what is Wizards spray. Is a spray wax, like the Honda cleaner? Different parts of this country have different cleaners, so it is nice to know what you are using, in case we get the product in our area.
Enjoy your ride!
Didn't work on the trike as such, but a needed piece to get me to Florida for the Rally.
Wiring more lights so the cages can see me at night.

I conceived the trike this morning! Or at least the idea of turning my 1983 Honda VT750C into a custom, scratch-built trike. Now doing a LOT of research to see what the best options are for shaft-driven differential and rear wheels.

WOW, that seems to be a Huge project, good luck. See what the major trike conversions are running for rear ends, my advise is IRS, with a good set of radial tires. Also do a rake on your front end if possible, handles a lot better.
Good luck. Please post picture of your Adventure into your conversion.
Thanks.

Rosy,

You and I basically have the same trailer. Mine just happens to have the inside finished off. Maybe these pictures can give you additional ideas for yours. ;)

Here's two shots of the inside;

Those tandem axle trailers really pull great! ThumbUp

Installed leg wings/hand wings/air wings.
Being a shot fellow I have not found a cruise peg that fits me like it should. So I made my own. I had a set I made for a Victory Cross Country so I adapted it into the making, they were already chrome. Added the Kuryakyn 4 inch cruise pegs. Installed the home made bracket, then added the kury so this gave me more adjustments. My biggest complaint on the GW is the wide engine and my short legs. I will post a photo later. These work real well for my 29 inch inseam. The only real thing is it is aggravating to adjust completely. But once you get em right their great

FYI, speaking with a trailer rep, he stated if you are hauling long distance on your trailer, like I plan to go to Florida from NH, have radials on your trailer. They run much cooler and give a better ride.
I am a newbie on this, so good info is always appreciated!

Ah Ha, chrome door trim, from Walmart at $9 for 25'...Is that what you have?
Brother-in-law put some on his trike.

Rosy

You bet, but not from Wally World, I wanted the good stuff  It saved me over $140.00 from the dealer price ThumbUp Leaves some money for something else.
Lets see now, what's next
