DK Convertible Comfort Lift Kit

Completed a late afternoon install of the DK Convertible Comfort Lift Kit that I've had since early January. The installation was extremely easy, with the jacking and placing of Jack stands under the rear being the most involved part of the procedure. Only rode 66 miles, which more than enough miles for retourque of the lug nuts. My initial impressions are really pleased with the improved handling and I'm extremely pleased with the improved comfort. Looking forward to being able to get it out there for some extended riding time in the coming weeks.

Next up is adjusting the front lights!

Spring Clean Up

With temps into the seventies, I gave her a good clean up. Down side to the warm up is pollen everywhere!!:( Also, put on mirror extenders, and finally added heel rests to my clone streamliner highway foot pegs.

They're Kuryakyn ISO-Stirrup Heel Rest, P/N 4554. The Stirrups for the heel rest have sae threads. The mounting hardware for my clone streamliners was metric. So quick trip to the local ACE Hardware to get new sae hex head screws to mount the pegs. I opted for the clone streamliner pegs, cause no way was I going to pony up for Harley's $$$$....

Put on a Premium Luggage Rack on my tour pak. I read the instructions that came with the kit. Spent I don't know how long lining it up. Installed it. I went on You Tube and saw a video of the dealership install. Evidently there are raised markers on the inside of the tour pak lid where your supposed to drill. Not on word in the HD instruction said anything about those marks. It's a 10 minute job. Granted I was close, but it pisses me off that they don't say anything about it. Harley is beginning to suck.

Finally, we were able to get out for the first ride of the year. A little cool and very windy but still better than going to work. Only went about 50 Miles but so far the new handle bars feel great!!

Installed the Transparent Paint Guard Kit on my trike. Got my Tour-Pac Relocation kit from DK Custom today. Thanks Kevin. I think I'll wait till the weather turns crappy again to install it.

What did you do to your Trike today?

Jerry,

When you get the Tour Pack relocation kit done. Let us know what you think of it. Will it give you and your passenger more room or???

Gary, I have had DK's kit on my Tri for over a year now and would not be without it. You can set it at 1, 2 or 3" back. Mine is at 2" back and that works for us. If I used a driver backrest, I would have gone 3" back. Passenger gets the extra space, which in turn can give the driver more space. Where you set it depends on how big driver & passenger are and how long your legs are.

Gary. I had the DK Tour Pak Relocator on my 2017 Tri-Glide. I had it set at 2". Worked great. Keeps the Mrs. from breathing down your neck. If ya know what I mean. Just kidding. Now I got the kit for the 2019. Well worth the money.

Put in the new cam's Andrews 57H, stump pulling Tq. Installed the probeam front directionals, de-catted the head pipe, bought some V&H ovals to put one. Going to try some LED bulbs in the tail lights.

Had to wait until the warranty run out, well almost it runs out in June.

First Ride of 2019....Back a couple days ago I made a very cold morning decision to ride the Trike to Boise on Saturday morning. Conditions turned out to be just right 15 degrees F. so my mile of Snow, Mud and Puddles were frozen solid so I could get out to the Highway. The Highway was bare and dry and my Heated Insoles, Heated Vest and Heated Gloves worked perfectly. Awesome ride over Banner Summit and down 140 miles to High Desert Harley in Boise at 50 degrees to put the Trike in for the Clutch recall, Software update to the WIM and above all Stage III Upgrade. So now to wait until the Scoot is all ready for me to go get it and ride back to Stanley.

HAPPY DAZE ahead...spring is coming only 24 inches of that white stuff left in my yard.

Last Evening Now.....

Preparing to install Mighty Mites with Frame Mount Bracket, make a Handlebar change, and run wiring for other accessories. Got a late evening start, but was able to remove the tank, outer fairing and the turn signal/axillary lamps. Had just enough light left to connect PV cable to diagnostic port and route it along the frame to the front for connecting the tuner later. Included a snapshot of a gift the little brown truck left. Hopefully, I'll have a full day Tuesday to release the inner fairing and swap out the bars and wiring, get the mighty mites installed, and complete the DK 606 Hiflow A/C and Premium EBS. Heck Tuesday's here already and no sleep for a couple of hours yet.

24” ! Ykes— it’s 24* here in the NE , as it’s to be the end of the cold temps , so they say . At least that white stuff is gone.
