Thats what I thought at first but I put it in the tub and cleaned it up.Wow that looks interesting. Looks like a seam is giving out. I've never seen a seamed front fender unless it was made wider for a custom. I wonder if they just tried to fix the fender rather than put a new one on.
I ain't no mechanic, but damn, that much damage to the fender, the tire must have been shredded?Thats what I thought at first but I put it in the tub and cleaned it up.
Looks like a large rock or maybe a stick did it from the scars on the bottom side.

No issues with the tire' I am changing it due to mileage; it is a Commander III and has 14000 miles on it.I ain't no mechanic, but damn, that much damage to the fender, the tire must have been shredded?
Well only a size 12 but with the footboard extensions it sets it out some so I will soon see.be sure to update, I would love to know if ya like the longer peg to work with, for me it was a big improvement, easier for my size 16 to grab onto than that small peg that came with it.
just replaced the front tire on my ride as well, did not replace the rear tires, but a few days later as I was giving her a good bath I noticed the rotor looked a little worn as with the brakes, got to looking at the tire, they could do with a replacement, being a 2013 model and used before I got her, im sure some new tires and the others would be a good idea.
Edit: forgot to ask, how did you fare with the deer/motorcyle embrace?
holy balls, that sounds scary as all hell. Most of the details and photos are in this thread
2017 Tri-Glide versus ~100 Lb deer
On the way to work this morning at 0545 it finally happened. I work on a Naval base in Indiana and to get to work it is 12-13 miles of forest from the gate to the building got within 2 miles of the building and a doe bolted across from the left side while I was running 45 MPH. Usually, I see...triketalk.com
Bottom line is it was a $10K hit replacing both forks, left side lower and handlebars.
While they had it, I had a rake kit from Papa Zook installed as well as a FST Asymmetric Fork Cartridge System from DK Custom.
I was able to come to a full stop without any issues, I didn't think I had left the road but when I went back later, I found the right wheel had been in the grass and I missed a sign by 1-2 feet and didn't realize it.
The deer rolled around the left side (I knew this from the pellets pressed on the gas tank) then went around the back of the bike, lost its tail on the back bumper then went down a 4-foot bank and the momentum kept it going until it was even with me in the ditch
She didn't make it.
Took the front fender off and rode it home after lunch.
It's a day I will never forget,
Right up there with driving my truck at 50 MPH and seeing a deer upside down and broadside flying at me.
Another long story, it hit 6 inches below the top of the windshield.
Another car going the opposite direction hit it first.

Pics of the RJS stainless steel discs, they really make the Twisted Cherry rims stand out, and the extended floorboards with the extended shift pegs. The extended rear heel shift lever makes lots of room for my foot.I installed the R.J.S. Originals Polished Stainless TriGlide rear wheel disks (I did a video and will provide a YouTube link in another thread)….I also verified the fitment check on a new KlockWerks front fender before sending that off to paint.

What I'm running on the Tri Glide are the DK floorboard extenders. Approximately an inch and a half out. Makes a lot of difference with the engine heat on my legs.oooh, I like those floorboard extensions, I been wondering about something like that too, may have to look into that, whats the measurement on the extension?
cool, gonna look into those, I didn't know I needed them until I saw the difference in your footboard placement and mine, even with the longer shift pegs, i was grumbling to myself how close my foot/leg was to the engine, that actually looks like further away than 1-2inch, makes me wanna run out today and get them,What I'm running on the Tri Glide are the DK floorboard extenders. I can't remember which bike or trike, but I had a rock get wedged between the fender and the tire and it made a crease, which then cracked the paint and clear, just like what you have pictured.Thats what I thought at first but I put it in the tub and cleaned it up.
Looks like a large rock or maybe a stick did it from the scars on the bottom side.

A while back I pulled the front wheel off to get a new Dunlop American Elite Back tire mounted in reverse.
I also took the front fender off to fix the cracked paint. See post # 4081.
Decided to strip the whole fender of the chrome and sand all of it.
I got a kit from Colorrite that matches my paint and painted the whole thing, I had used the same kit to fix my tour Pak when I broke it and replaced the bottom box and picked up an extra kit at the time.
Got it all back together yesterday.
I think it turned out pretty good.
