Tpms

Hi,
I am sorry if this is not a new thread.
Does anyone know how to disable the
TPMS on a 2010 Honda Goldwing Trike
without messing anything else up or
causing other problems.

Thank You,
Gtrike

Thanks, Lucky! Already extended an invitation, and hope that Lucky joins soon. We're looking forward to our ride on Saturday, May 14, to Strokers Dallas for a meet-and-greet with the owner, Rick Fairless (and his Ma!). Come join us!

Hello Gtrike
I have a Champion Trike. Try their website and download their PDF for installing the trike kit yourself. Might be somewhere in the pdf for what you are looking for. I have a 2009 GW with the Tpms and since the bike has been triked, the Tpms does not show up as an idiot light on the dash.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I will go try that.
One Honda shop said it could not be disconnected
but then a 2nd one said they thought it could
but did not have time to do it when I had the first
oil change done so I thought I would try to find
out on my own what the real story was.

Thank you for the answer.

It is TPMS.... not tmps and it means Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Gives you read outs on your tire pressure as you ride and can sound an alarm if your tires begin to go down while riding. Have them on my two wheeler... I feel they are not as critical on the trike.

IF this is Honda's TPMS from the factory, do the valve stem caps have batteries in them to send a signal to a receiver? Thats how the after market systems work I'm familiar with and had on my 2 wheeler. I just put regular valve caps on the stems and there was no signal to send to the receiver. That would disable/eliminate the TPMS from your trike or bike.

I agree. Our trikes have car tires with some heavy duty belts on the carcass. I have a two-wheeler TPMS just a few months before deciding to trike - works just fine. But now I am using "Ride-On" in all three of my tires and ther back ones especially are now a cinch to check the air and the Ride-On immediately fills any punctures or leaks until the end of the day when I can check the tires. (Oh, yeah - my TPMS is for sale at $100 off.)
