Good deal. Sorry I didn’t notice the ground was controlling wire earlier. I normally don’t see that

Here's the standard test of ignition on and throttle rolled back fully for 5 seconds. (Hopefully the vid will post from YouTube correctly.) I can also attest that the light comes on in real time riding situations. Guess Harley got this one right.
I'll have to look it up again, but I believe the manual says it should come on under 30 mph if the engine temperature exceeds 275° F. This seems to be close in my actual riding conditions on a hot day like today. At one point today I was stopped in a safe spot with no traffic and when the light came on I got my ear down low and could hear the fan running. The light turned off when I got to a hair over 30 mph. That's pretty cool! Have you established what temperature it comes on under normal riding conditions?
You are correct with what the manual says, I can hear mine at slow speeds so I know it is working, when I pull in my garage after a ride I let it run for a good 2 minutes before shutting it down, I can really hear the fan run thenI'll have to look it up again, but I believe the manual says it should come on under 30 mph if the engine temperature exceeds 275° F. If I weren't practically deaf I might be able to hear the fan come on too.You are correct with what the manual says, I can hear mine at slow speeds so I know it is working, when I pull in my garage after a ride I let it run for a good 2 minutes before shutting it down, I can really hear the fan run then
If I recall when I re-did my '59 Pan there were only eight wires on the whole thing, not a fist thick harness and a computer with branches going to who knows where.Lectricity is a funny and scary animal, I respect it completely and most often do not have any major problems with it
I am sure you will not either, you rode a Troublehead and I am sure you did most all of your own wrenching and making things fit including wiring projects
Before the days of Internet, YouTubber's and bloggers that's where I would get a lot of my information. Still have my Easyrider collection from issue 2. Don't remember what happened to issue 1. Course, don't remember a lot of things from back then.Jammer...a publication of Easyriders had some cool drawings I think done by Robinson. Various models done in that cartoon style and I used them to wire up several chops.
