Maggie Valley 2020

Trina let me know today she can not get off Labor day week, so that means I won't be meeting you fine folks at Maggie Valley unless I sneak off by myself ;)

Can I safely "assume" that the gathering will start on Labor Day, 7 Sept. 2020? I am trying to make plans to go back to Maggie Valley and visit my family in Virginia and upstate New York.

Ray, that would be my guess. I have heard nothing different. After all the conversation it was left that the dates would be the same as always, Labor Day week.

Not much chatter about Maggie this year, but then we have this 'bug problem', perhaps all will be well by September and the subject will heat up, hope so. I would so like to go this year, we shall see.

Really quiet here about Maggie Valley, guess I'll step up as I did in March with another post......I'm guessing there won't be one this year since the world is in such turmoil, sad indeed.

I know of another group that is planning a rally in Maggie Valley the last week in August and their "home" is at the Holiday Hotel. I guess that if you wanted to you could make your reservations at the hotel if we are staying at the Best Western.

Maybe it's time to get "Papa" involved and do some checking for us on the BW in MV, what do you think ?

Went thru Cherokee last week, it was a ghost town. Only a couple of stores, hotel/motels open. Take out food only. Looked really run down, the Casino was still closed. I’m sure that will change for both MV and Cherokee, might be smart to give it a couple on months to get the kinks ironed out.

My Wife & I had Thought about going,

(We still have Kids @ Home So we have to keep that in mind as well)

What is the Latest Info on this having a hard time figuring it out from the Link.

Where will "Home" be, & When(Labor Day, 7 Sept. 2020, the Weekend or the Week Of)?

My Wife & I have to plan for time Off Work & Plan Stuff for the Kids..

Thank GOD My Wife & I still have Good Parents to Help.:D

Best Western Mountainbrook Inn is our usual hotel, they treat us really good, Papa Zook is our fearless leader and gets us a pretty good rate.

Last year at MV, my triumphant return to the Rattler, I committed to returning this year. I also indicated I’d probably have a failing knee replaced. The knee was replaced at the end of Dec. I went thru the obligatory PT and “graduated” in mid-April. The plan was to continue the recovery at the gym, then they closed the gyms. Damn! May was spent languishing at home and then they announced operating rooms were allowed to reopen! Not knowing how long the Covid was going to screw up our lives I decided to take the plunge and have my dislocated shoulder fixed in June. My last PT for the shoulder is next week. Needless to say I can’t be in two places at the same time and am torn between MV and PT but PT has to win. Since I can’t keep my commitment this year I am forced to take a rain check until next year.

In the mean time, those of you who are able to make it to MV, ride well and have enough fun for the rest of us.

Cheers!

Ed, Connie & Kelly

You got to do what’s best for Ed. I’m sure all do understand. There is always next year.

Thanks for the phone call Mike, we truly miss everyone. Since there are quite a few of us missing, I hope Mike doesn't have to drink all the white lightning by himself, lol. We've been watching the weather and it's looking good for you guys and gals, enjoy !!!
