Update

Hi everyone. I’ve been away spending a lot of time with family. Thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Dad is home now. He is still battling this infection. At his age it is harder for him to fight it off. He’s tired but feeling better. He is eating. This weekend he is finally going to meet his second Great Granddaughter Adeline . She is three months old already. The virus kept them from visiting sooner. There will be lots of pictures :clapping:. A happy day for sure.

Hi Jack. Thanks for your concern. I’m doing well. I injured my right hand recently so I haven’t been riding much but I’m finding things to occupy my mind. I like to draw and paint so that keeps me from worrying too much .

Sending Prayers

Since I have a Goldwing trike, (considering a Tri-Glide with Zooks rake kit) I do not usually go on this part of the forum much so I am late seeing this but want to let ya'll know we will be praying too.

Hi guys.

Thanks for still being here. Here’s an update. It’s hard to talk about.

Dad is headed back to the hospital. He has a mass in a kidney. He’s in a lot of pain and won’t eat... still. He says he’s ready to go . He has stopped fighting. I’m not sure what to do. I am there for support and love but there is nothing else I can do.

We bought him chocolates for Father’s Day. It was great to see him open up the boxes and try several of them . He loves chocolate. Since then, his appetite is zero.

Dad had a doctor’s appointment today but I haven’t heard anything yet. I will keep you all posted.

I appreciate all the love and prayers from all of you. I’m trying to stay upbeat.

Thanks Carla. I do that a lot. I walk down to the end of my property and those young horses come right over. It’s a lovely moment. We have become good friends .

The not eating is the hard part

WE went thru that with our daughter near the end, it is a helpless feeling. I found praying to get us thru, and will continue to pray for y'all

Just heard that Dad is having a CAT Scan tomorrow to find out what’s wrong with his kidney. Also, he has a cracked rib from falling. He falls a lot because he’s not taking precautions .

It's easy to not eat when you have an IV in you. At least I had to force myself to eat with the 4 day hospital stay I just had.Hopefully he gasn't truly given up and will get his appetite back. Prayers to all.ray:

I wanted to update everyone on my Dad.

In the hospital, he can eat and feels better because of the pain management protocol they have him on. When he comes home, the pain returns and he is unable to function. Mom fought this for a while, but she has hired a Hospice nurse to come in and keep him comfortable. I think this is a positive step but the word “Hospice” scares us. I think that’s why Mom fought it.

Dad is home now and, hopefully, with the continued pain management, he will keep his appetite and get stronger.
