I cut mine out and added the Nightrider FL-Vied-10s .... and it REALLY solved my passenger complaints .... so I know it works. Bike runs and sounds way better. My welding is covered by the stock heat shield and can not "easily" be seen. Buying a de-catted headpipe from http://www.wildpigpipes.com/Store1.html saves a lot of time and hassle.
