If it is on a Cobra or XL, there are a couple of 8mm nuts to remove, then the whole light assembly pulls out.
The XL nuts are in the trunk and I do not remember if the Cobra nuts are in the trunk or the fenderwell.

Will be much easier to pull wheel off to get to nuts on tail light assembly

Open the trunk and pull away the carpet from behind the light assembly. It is attached with Velcro. Undo the bolts and pull off the light assembly and replace the bulb.
