Yesterday was interesting at the shop....everyone was out looking at the eclipse thru a welding helmet.
At the peak, the sun was about 93% covered.
While we could see the crescent very clearly thru the helmet lens....
...we could not get a photo of what we were seeing.
What was most surprising was how light it still was, even with 90+% of the sun covered.

...even though we could see (thru the welding helmet) that almost the entire sun was eclipsed by the moon. The cameras could not tell it.
Later in the day...around 7:40 pm, this is what the sun looked like on my ride home.
