Has anyone installed an Oil Temp Gauge on a 2014 TG? I am thinking of trying the 2013 gauge that replaces the Air Temp on the 2013.

Not sure if it will fit since they changed the style of the dash and gauges..Unless you going with the oil stick type??

I replaced the original oil level dip stick with a oil temp and level dip stick from Harley Davidson. It works good. I have a 2014 Tri Glide and I think that was my only option for oil temp. Hope this helps.

I saw a picture of a guy that did that...he installed in his left side lower fairing.

Right now I'm using the dipstick gauge, hoping HD will come out with a software upgrade that will display it on the dash screen.

If I had a 2014 model I would be more inclined to want a water temp gauge or sensor to monitor that. If it's right, then the oil temp will be ok. Majority of the oil heat comes from the combustion chamber in the heads.

Good thought

The only vehicle I had with an oil temp gauge was on a VW GTi [87?] That and 20c would get me a ride on the Subways.. Never had one on a bike.., Just me but adding another gauge would be one more thing to stare at and worry about...

Like the oil pressure gauge, How many newbies panicked when at an idle it would read 5 psi.. :D

If you like the idea of "assuming" it's fine by me. But I'm a gear head and prefer to have the ability to monitor the state of my rig. Gauges in race cars, semi trucks, pickups, and some cars do serve a useful purpose they aren't for show.

100% CORRECT !!! Those neat little lights got their nic-name for a reason....... But each to their own.
