A Day in The Life - 2025

I am back in the Great State of Mississippi.

Since my bike room is in the middle of a renovation, the TG has been parked in a carport for the last 3 weeks while I was out of town.

It is pretty dadgum dusty! I'll probably give it a quick clean-up before riding it into the shop tomorrow.

Forgot to do a post yesterday...still getting settled back in.

Here are over 400 shock spring perches machined out of Billet Aluminum on one of our HAAS CNC machines.

Here is scrap aluminum from just 40 of them.

Yesterday, while I was taking those photos, Devin and I were talking about if tariffs were likely to increase our raw metal costs appreciably. We don't know, but several of our suppliers do not think they will.

We'll see.

🎶 hey it’s good to be back home again, you know it is! 🎶:D

Absolutely!!! (y)

I hadn’t seen this about your youngun. Thoughts and prayers for a great recovery Kev.

Thank you!

She is well on her way to recovery...they say to be fully recovered will take several months. I am thinking it will be less.

Sometime in April or May I will be doing an SS1K Iron Butt ride.

Was talking with my brother about it and he sent me this photo from over 50 years ago.

We lived in the Amazon basin in Peru for a few years, and this was the biggest, baddest bike in the area!

That's my brother, Greg, and his friend Toby...both of them are fantasizing what it would be like to ride it.
:D

The SBS Chop Bike build has been languishing for years...but over the last few months Andrew has been putting in a few hours here and there on it.

Wiring is roughed in, and bike was started for the first time in over 5 years yesterday.

Wanted to ride it, but it has NO Brakes yet.

Was so excited to hear it run I did not take a photo or video. lol

20 minutes after finishing that, we got a Tornado warning...a tornado was spotted about 15 miles southwest of us, headed our way. 30 minutes later we exited the shelter...just rain and thunderstorms where we are.

as able to spend over 2 hours on the phone talking with my daughter today.

She is Off of the Ventilator!
:)

She still has a long ways to go, but 4 weeks ago they were talking about the possibility of "pulling the plug", so to be able to converse with her, hearing her voice, was Huge!
