Harley to Build More Bikes Overseas

Yep, they are circling the hole, going down slowly. No more American Made.

IMO there are a few reasons for this, Millenials do not want and cannot afford heavy weight bikes, The deal HD made with the EPA has scared some buyers off, competition here is getting tougher

HD will still be made or assembled here in USA, however we will see more off shore vendors step up with cheaper inferior parts JMO

What I would like to know is Where are the engines and trannys going to be assembled?

And will they face the same oil migration problems?

The main reason is the EU tariff's are adding about $2,500 to the price of their motorcycles.

Not cool at all!

Mike.....Do you really think Harley is going to build a 200 million dollar +- factory ,When they [Harley] just got notice of a tariff increase this week....No way''' They have been planing this move for years now...It has nothing to do with tariffs.... Especially when the tariffs might not permanent and just a negotiating tactic.... This is just Harleys excuse ...Harley is running out of Americans who have the need/want to Ride a Harley..

Did I say anything about building a factory? Did I say anything about moving, As usual, you are mistaken on several levels.

I think HD is banking on the EU doing business with them on a HUGE market level now

The US market is losing ground and HD has to answer to the board

The next logical move IMO is give them what they want and move forward or pay it out in capital gains and risk the American market?

I dunno, They ( HD) needs IMO to restore the American confidence Fix the M8 problems, hold their prices and re gain market share or get crushed by Indian and Honda in the heavy weight market

Please, feel free to disregard my posts, that's what I do to most of yours,:D

I think HD bit themselves in the butt big time with the tariff grandstanding. They have been saying for more then a year that they would be moving more production overseas. By trying to say it's all Trumps fault they pissed off a large segment of their core market in the USA. I predict that their stock and market share will take a dive. Business and politics are a losing formula.
