What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

J&S jack was my Christmas present. Used it Monday and cleaned and polished the wheels. Had a nice glass of Bourbon and listened to the new Rolling Stones while working.😎

CONGRATS thats how to CHILL OUT

Installed Floor Board Extenders

I just can't live with the stock Harley TGU footboard position. It is tucked much too close into the trike. Even with the mitigation of the catalytic converter placement on my new 2017 TGU, the foot positions are so much more relaxed after I installed the DK Customs floorboard extenders this morning. The instruction were quite clear EXCEPT for the removal of the three bolts necessary on the left floorboard to put the spacers in. I had errantly removed a bolt that did not require removal and couldn't figure out why the spacer strategy would not work and why I couldn't get the floorboard backing plate loose. After studying the diagram several times, I realized that the instructions did not call for the removal of one particular bolt and the removal of another on the plate to get it away from the trike.

When I figured this out, the rest went very smoothly and rapidly. I will be riding today to complete my 500 mile break-in and it is forecast to rain tomorrow so I plan to install the DK Customs Custom Lift Kit and my trike will be getting closer to the way I like them.

DK Custom Lift Kit Install Complete

Wow, My 2017 TGU is now "right" with my DK floorboard extenders and my DK Custom Lift Kit. I personally found the installation of the lift kit to be a bit more challenging than I had expected because of the balance issues of my M8-engined trike. It seems to be much heavier on the left and when I just used a jack with some blocks of wood pushed up on the underside of the trunk cross member, I found the bike to be pretty scary in terms of wanting to oscillate or tip off the jack. Whew, I had a neighbor help me and after a couple of hours fiddling with jack stands etc., the install proceeded and was successfully completed without incident. My take on it is that although I am somewhat mechanically inclined, I think it would have been money well spent to have had a dealer I trade with do it for the 1 hour of labor they would have charged. Others may find it less difficult but I seemed to kind of ham-fist this installation more than I would have thought?

I took it out for a test ride and I realized that I just can't stand owning a Tri Glide Ultra without the two parts I put on. They are both terrifically additive and make the ride experience significantly better from my personal physiological perspective:Santa:

I do have to agree with you. One would think by now that considering how many have raved about how the instillation of both the body lift and floor board spacer kits make the Tri Glide so much more liveable, that the Mo Co would have made them a factory install to start with or at least make them available in the big P&A book.

Took my Tri for a ride to White Castle.. First time this year that i've had them. Still taste the same as they did last year...;)

Installed the battery leads for the new heated jacket liners and took the trike for a 45 mile test ride. :clapping:

You will love it. That is what is so frustrating with this damn weather in TX. I can handle the cold. It is the dog gone wind at 20 + mph that makes trying to ride a pita.

Shhhh They have already copied some of our stuff, don't need them doing more. :)

When it hits 50 or higher here this time of year, rain is guaranteed. Now 40 and sunny with the Texas wind :gah:

Been working on it all week long in the afternoons and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Installed my wiring for my Sirius radio, my Garmin GPSr, and my charging link for my phone. Already had the RAM mounts installed. While I had the fairing off, also installed the oil Temp gauge and wiring and installed the new LED fog lamps that are mounted under the floorboards. Installed the Chrome fenderwell strips and mudflaps on the rear. New Freedom Shield Wimdshield to help keep the wind off the wife while she is with me. And of course, changed the oil and filter while at it. Let's see....I think that is about it....maybe!:clapping:

Yesterday was a high of 74* and sunny, but I took Mary's truck to the shop instead of riding.

I had an eye doc appointment in the middle of the day and was not sure how my eyes would be for riding after they dilated them. Good thing I did...vision was not so great afterwards. :xzqxz:

Eyes are all better now. High today is 53*, but am leaving for the shop shortly on the Tri-Glide! :)

Mary and I left the house today on the TG. It was sunny and 61*. We headed 70 miles north to visit some friends we have not seen in awhile.

About halfway there it turned cloudy, then foggy, and by the time we got there it was down to 51*.

Just got back awhile ago, and about halfway back it was back to sunny, and it was 64*.

Great time riding & visiting. :)

The trike is snug as a bug in a rug in the garage. Just sat out several tornadoes that passed just to the west of me. Sure am glad I have that ridge between my place and Grandview, TX

CB install on my 2016.

Finally got some work done on the triglide today. Put in the CB module and a set of lighted switches. As was previously noted here, the right side that has the ptt button had to be replaced and for about 60 more dollars, I bought both sides that's lighted. Only downside to it was a little more work changing out both sides. Also installed a chrome fairing vent insert while the fairing was off. Was very anxious to see if the CB would work without the radio flash. It works just fine. Strange how you read on here some need the flash others don't.

Rode it to work in 37* temps, and am fixing to head home in the dark and 31* temp.

Lots of lights to help me see the critters.

Kevin, I have been told, while riding in a group, that it appears I don't have my lights on. 14 tri glide with no front light mods, I did adjust the lights when I installed the DK Comfort lift. Do the yellow running lights make a difference in the daylight? Jim

Last night and today I took a bunch of pics...posted below.

Specifically on the yellow film I have covering the running lights-yes, I think it makes them more visible during the day, helping me Be Seen better. The Stealth Driving Lights also are a big asset during the day (and night) helping me Be Seen better.

Bike pointed into the sun..the headlight is not much brighter (if any) than the chrome. But the yellow passing lights are still visible, and the Stealth Driving Lights very noticeable. Even the Turn Signals/Running Lights encircling the forks are visible.

Same set-up at night time. Not only am I very likely to Be Seen, but it really lights up the road to help me See. btw, all of these lights, and I never get high beam flashes, because none of these are blinding the oncoming traffic.

Here's a view from behind at night. Pretty sure anyone behind me is going to see me. :)

Plus, you can look in front of the Trike to see the nice spread of the headlight, passing lights, running lights and Stealth Driving Lights.
