Anyone change out the reflector on the trunk for a working light? I am thinking of adding one in either red or white that flashes when applying the brakes. I have the lighted rack, but I don't think you can have enough lights blinking at cars

Information on flashing lights is pretty different state to state. Here is a nice site for MC laws in your state. http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/Rights/State-Laws.aspx?stateid=33 I think a white LED flashing beacon like on top of school buses would help safety, and that laws are not too specific. I think (not legal information) that I might add one and be sure it does not point at eye level, and just see what happens. In the Navy we used to say " it is easier to say I am sorry, than to get permission".

Flashing whites lights rear or front would be illegal in Florida. They are only allowed by construction vehicles etc or associated with while in the effected area. They have to be turned off when leaving the area. Even driving with your 4 way flashers on is illegal unless it's an emergency. In that case you will get stopped to see what the issue is. You see people turn them on in the rain here all the time because some other countries do it. They kind of blind the driver behind you in some cases.

Theres a name for that; Its called Target Fixation, Nimrods will stare at the flashing lights and drive/steer right into them....

they have LED strips that you can use for that, in red, and there are run/brake. just cover the reflector with it or remove it,there bright so it should be seen well.
