What did you do to your Trike this week?

To me, that was a full day's work. Great, what did you use for oil? Dino or Syn?
I use synthetic in my GL 1800. Been using it for a few years now and haven't looked back. Change it more offend than required for synthetic, but that is peace of mind. One thing I can say, if I am very busy and can't find the time to change the oil, I am sure that I will not reach the miles which "have to" change, because it says good for 15,000 miles! LOL
My trike also needs a complete cleaning, but right now, time is something I do not have much of!

Rosy you need to get up in the morning to get things done !!!:pepper:

Thanks Fred, but have you been talking to Bruce? Just because you guys see sunrise every morning, doesn't mean everybody else has to follow suit! 9/10 AM is early enough! WOW, but again, I don't go to bed when the sun sets either, 11/12 PM is just right!
There has to be night people, so we can keep the night owls awake!

Installed new windshield National Beaded 21" taller than the old one much nicer. Best price I could find was from Dennis Kirk but took 12 days to get here.:gah:rsz_20160705_184913.jpg

Great, more wind protection, correct.
Need to get the bike and trike state inspected soon, or get a ticket! Don't want a ticket!

Added accessories

Rainy July 4th weekend.

Added rear fender extension and fog lights to my GW-RS.

Learned the importance of keeping track of bolts/screws! (One bolt grew legs and musta run and hid!) :AGGHH:

Rear Rotors and pads......My Rotors were worn/grooved at 37 thousand miles..
I'll use the old rotors for boat anchors ...:D

The old H-D battery gave up the ghost so had to replace it. Bought a Deltran Battery Tender Lithium thru Amazon. Next day delivery has no acid so fast on shipping. Thing only weighs 2lbs compared to the old battery feels like nothing in it. Came with every thing needed to make the swap even 70% charged, really whipped the old starter and fired right up. On the high side price wise but power is kind of the heart of the trike. Here is a link to check out.

trike time

Today , I went on a 160 mile round trip to the Hill country northwest of San Antonio, Tx. Made a stop in the town of Medina, and had a BBQ Brisket sandwich at Keese BBQ diner. I'll give it a 9 out of ten, their sauce is a ten. Im learning my trike got it in December 2015, after my accident on my 2013 Street glide. I am enjoying my trike, still learning how to handle it in curves , after getting home safely, and in one piece I started to clean the trike, check the tire pressure, tighten the loose hex nuts on the exhaust headers, check the oil, Now its ready to go next time I get a notice from the PGR here in the city. The weather here in San Antonio is very hot, its in the low 100"s, and traffic is horrible there is no respect for bike riders. The city is constantly putting notices on the highway electronic signs that read "LOOK TWICE FOR MOTORCYCLES". At the end of the day I had a good and safe ride. Till next time stay safe when you ride!!!

I see Walmart carries it for $172.15 in New Hampshire.

Rosy, Lithium batteries are a good idea to take a lot of weight off your bike but they don't do very good in cold weather environments.
Should work great here in the summer (both weeks) but spring and late fall there could be issues.

I just bought an Anti-gravity battery to keep on the bike. Will be able to jump start it 30+ times on a single charge as well as charge electronics during the trip. It can be recharged while riding or plugged into the wall outlet in my room.

Next summer I may entertain getting a lithium battery for the trike just to see how it goes. They have small ones that may need some modification to install but will give you extra room for other stuff OR you can get the OEM style which has the same footprint as your current battery.

Check out Revzilla for a good video about Anti-gravity batteries.

Read, they are only good for every day use on bikes up to 600cc.
Watched the video and they stated they were not good in recovery very quickly.
Nope, stick to my acid cell battery, but thank you very much for the info.

I had to replace my Yuasa Battery in my GL1500 this year. I stopped and spoke to the Yuasa Reps at Americade. I told them I was unhappy it only lasted 13 years. They asked if I wanted to be charged for all the additional years I got out of my battery. ;)

Also on very cold days you have to warm the battery by turing on the ignition switch for awhile.. Before starting the bike/trike... Kinda like holding the key halfway on a diesel to heat the glow plugs..

Well got the battery and GPS wired in all seems to work just fine. Took the trike out around town stopped 6 times in half an hour left every thing on including all lights while restarting. Unlike before nothing dimmed when hitting the starter. I could be wrong and they are not for big toys but time will tell. I will be extra hard on it to see if it will let me down. But so far it's like night and day as far as starting. If I have problems I will report back.:D

OK, that's great because you read one thing,M then someone goes out and proof them wrong.
Just like the old days in another web page, don't put synthetic oil in GL 1800..now what, just about everybody is running synthetic oil.

Funny, but you are correct, but, at times it is not enough. We got into an accident when the person was texting, so, no matter what you have in the back, if they are not looking, you are going to get hit. Yup, that accident, cost my brother-in-law his trike, and mine had to be repaired.
I was in a Local Harley shop getting state inspection yesterday when this lady and I were speaking about more lights in the rear of her two wheel bike, so people could see her. I told her, the more you have the better, but, at times, it is not enough!

You can put neon signs on it. People are either paying attention, or distracted. 50/50 crapshoot.

:Agree: When someone is gonna rear end you' Their gonna do it no matter how many lights you hang on your rear end... Talk to any School bus driver' Cant have any more lights then them.. And they still get rear-ended.. Even cops with flashing lights get hit... Too many lights can cause a phenomena called ;;

''Target Fixation''....

Funny but so true, being in the fire service and all this ultra brite led tecnoligy, police and fire equipment blind traffic and like a moth drives you twards the light, proven fact. However the saying of the more is better, doesnt fly in the buisness. At a auto accident, ive eliminated or shut down strobes at scenes many times with out any disipline action twards me.

You are both correct..No matter, you going yo get rear ended, it's going to happen.
We need more enforcement of texting while driving. Way too many accidents happening.
California is really clamping on cell phone use. There are a couple cities here in NH, who are taking a lot of action on cell phones, and you still see people talking and texting while they drive. It's the Law, here in NH.
Oh well, keep fingers crossed!
