What did you do to your Trike this week?

Great.
For us not in the loop, exactly what does it do? Does it cut the amount of pressure needed to engage the clutch? Or does it vary, the amount of pressure on the pressure plate? Help! LOL
Any photos?
Thanks
Rosy

Hey Rosy, Fuel Motto is a Respected sponsor on this fourm and has pics, write up and sells these. You can also purchase from other distributors. I have not been able to try it out yet due to snow. 😡. I'm not able to give a review yet but as soon as the weather breaks I will. Hopefully this next week. David

Gloria didn't like the big flag mirrors on the new trike:
Trike - Copy - Copy.jpg
They are late 90's Ford Ranger pickup mirrors, and they were just too big and square for the swoopy style of the Roadhawk. While she thought they were a good idea, she also didn't like the added on turn signals. they look, well, added on.
Found a set of mirrors on the web, she saw the pictures and approved. I put them on, and she likes them much better. Her first comment was, "They look like boobs."20160213_141410.jpg

TMI, way too much TMI..LOL
They do look good, how is the rear vision, the same or smaller?
No problems converting from one to the other? Any turn signals on the new set?
Great job!

Finally got around to taking the Xmas lights off the trike, and trailer. Hasn't been out of the garage since the December toy run. T want's to go for a ride this weekend so it's time to get off my butt. :)

Added some LED's from Custom Dynamics. 2 TruFlex strips between the tail lights, running lights that brighten as brake lights. The ones on the fenders are also running/brake lights, and go amber when the turn signals are on. The stock lights are very bright, hard to see the difference in pictures.
The rear lights (lower "lights" are a reflection off the chrome engine guard)

And I added an amber strip on the new mirror mount. The left blinker is on,
looks a lot less bright than in person due to the flash.

Looking fine! Been looking for a third brake light, but couldn't find any that looked right.
I have pin striping all over the back of the trunk, and didn't want to cover any of it up. Looks like this might be the answer.

ThumbUp

You may want to put a spoiler on your trike.
They make them in diffent sizes to fit your trike.

My trailer goes in on Monday for the brake problem I had on the way down to Florida. Lost one brake because it kept locking, so the service truck cut the wires. Let the experts figure out why, and at the same time, have my bearing packed.

Hi Rosy

Last spring had to have a new caliper put on my Hannigan trike. Now I have a red caliper and a new one, So, I will get some caliper paint and match the red one. Also paint the hub black to make it look purty! I know some trikers think this is foolish to make your trike look pretty, but it makes it mine.

Last winter's project was to hook my trunk door to the side cover display when open. Ran out of time finding the plug, rewiring the switch, and fitting the wires. Had some great help from fellow trikers in trying to figure out where the plug was for the hookup. Never found it under the seat, so I was advised it may be hiding under the upper trunk, or in the recess areas around the seat. So, with winter being so long, snowy, cold, and me just getting back from my "adventure" (that's another story) since December 8th, we are going to "try" and tackle these projects before spring.

Hope your "projects" go well for you.

Rosy
Sounds like you've been a busy Gal,
Me, I've just taken delivery of a new BMW 1200 Gt Panther tourer
trike, waiting now for a bit of spring like weather here in UK, cos its been soo cold,
Bye for now,:) Tony

My trailer is fixed, numerous problems were found, none my fault (LOL), so while the shop worked on my trailer to get it ready for the return trip to NH from Florida, I went fishing!
The shop found, the left side brakes, the magnets were bad..replaced the magnets..plug on the trailer was not making a good connections, replaced the plug..packed the bearings and new seals...

Trailer Brakes

OK, I have learned a lesson about trailer dealers.
I had my enclosed trailer completely gone over two years ago at my trailer dealer in NH. Had new tires, new mag wheels, pack the bearings, and had the brakes checked. Came to Florida and back with "no" problems.
So, I hitched the trailer and started to Florida this year. Ran into brake problems on the way down to Florida, to the extend, I had to call a service truck at a truck stop to have my brakes checked. They cut the brake wires to the brake which was causing the problem. Good to go till you have it looked at, in Florida or back to NH.
Did not want to wait till I got home. So, I asked in the area and was told by a couple of people who use their trailers as a livelihood who to go see. OK, went there and told them to check my brakes and while they were at it, repack my bearings. Never said I have had a brake problem, did connect my "bad" brake again.
Guess what, report from this dealer, left side brakes have never worked. Came from the factory with no brakes working on that side. He has Never seen anything like this before. Both magnets were bad and pads never engaged. Right side brakes only working. 7 way plug had a bad connection, new plug put on.
So, what did my dealer do in NH to check my brakes, I will find out when I take my report from the Florida dealer and show it to him. Hope he has a good answer.
Also, what type of manufacturing inspection is done at the factory when the trailer rolls off the assembly plants? Some..None..Just assume they work...
What lesson did I learn, well, you tell me..Don't trust anyone, but, if you don't, and can't do the work yourself, then what! Dilemma!!

Welcome to the world of : usto be able to do it, however age and health changed all that, so we rely on others to, HOPEFULLY continue with the work we were use to. No one takes the extra mile to replace the plastic plug that supports the underside engine shield after doing the oil change, just because the last dummy dropped it and was too lazy to bend over to pick it up and put it back in. Being I was in the repair biz, even my own help would cut corners :gah:<br />
It's a wicked world out there!!

Yes, you are correct, cut corners won't hurt anybody, Yeah right!
I'll tell you something, didn't know the repair shop here in NSB, Florida, from Adam, but got a good feeling about him as we spoke. He said he would never let a trailer go out after repair that he would not drive. He said, too many people's lives can be at stake if there is an accident and it was caused by the work he did on a trailer. Like I said, he was recommended by a person who uses his trailer for his lively hood. He was a landscaper.
So, again, I have put my safety on a person/shop that I didn't know, is this good, maybe, but one thing for sure, we will find out as I head North in a couple of days.

I cut a piece of new carpet for the tour pack, installed a pig tail for the battery tender, installed an auxiliary audio cable and installed a 12 volt outlet in the left side glove box where the audio cable stores. I didn't think this was bad since I just bought it Monday. More to come, this is habit forming.

WOW, you guys are busy..Put me to shame on work being done to the trike. I have just been riding, and cleaning after the rides, plenty of bugs in Florida.
I am going to change my Michelin tires on my trike, not for wear, but for born date. This story confirmed my thoughts.Story time:
Went to my son's in laws and when I arrived they were looking at the front tires of their mother-in-law's car, Honda. So, I went by and took a peek, OMG, the outside of the tire was chunking and showing canvas. I said first was WOW, this car needs to be aligned! Then we looked at the rest of the tires, they were all doing this..under inflated somebody said, nope, checked, right on.
So, we came in and told her. I found out the tires were OEMs when bought, how old, 2011, 5 years..
They took the car in, yup, wear was due to age of the tires. If she had been going 60/70, hate to think what would have happened.
So, my tires look perfect on my trike, but they are at least 5 years old, guess what..New tires are coming on when I get home from Florida..
Food for thought..How old are your tires? Not how they look, but how old?..

Went for a ride then cleaned and polished the trike, Inspected and tighten every bolt and nut i could see and reach, Cleaned and re oiled the K&N air filter. Now waiting for snow you got to love the New England weather. Next week will change all the fluids
Always love working on trike

Peter

Rerouted the rear brake hose and the hose from the reservoir to master cyl. While I was there I fixed some wiring I didn't like the looks of.Just rode to work and back today only about 30 miles round trip the brakes seem better than ever.

It is amazing what you see, if you look. Lots of people ride, but don't really look at their trikes, till they have to.
Your headlight is out, OH, I didn't know that! OK! Your rear break light isn't working..Have you said this to fellow riders, and wonder? LOL
That's OK, Janice looks now, and she will tell me, his light is out or look at his tires...& that's great, because four eyes are better than two!
Keep upgrading your trike, it will keep you safe!

Beware on the amount of oil you put on the A/F. I had oil on the mass air sensor from that oil getting sucked in, will drive ya nuts. Now I just run it dry after cleaning. No more issues. JMO

WOW, didn't know you had to treat your Harley like my Wheelhorse lawnmower and put oil in the air cleaner.. Great place, I learn something just about every day..
So, back in NH to 30s and snow..Trike will stay in trailer a while longer till it warms up..LOL
I thought I would bring Spring to NH from Florida, but it was not to be..Old Man winter won this battle! LOL ☃☃

Unless you have an air filter in your Harley that specifically calls for oil... Don't oil it.....

OK, some do and some don't, which do and which don't in case someone ask. Is there a year to year where they did, like 1972 to 1985? I am sure the manual would tell you, but how many manuals are saved when you buy a used bike. LOL
