What did you do to your Spyder today?

Went for a ride up the Snake. Hwy 421. 70° and rd conditions were good, with the exception of several wet spots.

I went into a corner pretty hot and and lifted the outside tire higher than I have done before. The nanny never kicked in. It's strange to see your front fender almost eye level. Lol. For some reason I just can't ride sliw in tbe twisty's. Been that way forever. I do try to just relax and enjoy the scenery. Nope! Can't do it.

Came home and pulled the front grill and cleaned all the junk off the radiators, wiped down the fan motors, and blades. Cleaned the radiator compartment.

I am amazed at your ability. As hard as I ride I have never pulled a wheel up. I guess I don't ride as hard as I think I do.
Thanks, but really i wasn't even going that fast. It's just the way that turn is. The posted sign says 20 mph but there's no way you can go that fast. It's a real tight right turn and pretty steep. When I try to gas out of the turn probably only going 15 mph is when it happens. I'm no dare devil that I can attest to. It kinda freaks you out when it happens.

Correction on orginal post. It was the inside wheel that lifted while turning right.

Jeez I haven't been active on here since March.
Anyway I'm back. Been riding every day that the wx allows. Surprised myself this past Winter with plenty of rides. Not long rides but usually about 30-50 miles a day with longer rides 150ish once a week. I keep testing the limits of my Spyder F3S. I have determined that the F3S can handle waaay more than I'm capable of riding. I dont pussyfoot around either. I'm pushing her hard on the twisty's . I'm really digging this machine. I've got 11,500 miles on it in less than 2 years, and Ive only ridden on a interstate for 30 miles at a time. So mostly the twisty's. Anyway it's definitely proven itself. So far it's been as dependable as an Anvil.

Sometimes I feel little out gunned in the exhaust area. So I'll put the delete pipe on to make some noise, but the bike prefers some back pressure. The stock exhaust on the F3S which is the sport bike of Spyders has a shorter, louder exhaust can on it than do the other models, so it sounds pretty decent. I've switched back in forth 2 dozen times but I still prefer the low end grunt this 1.3 litre tripple gives me.

Last month I was at a stop light that was rather long and I was kinda anticipating for it to change to green. There was no traffic. I was rolling very slow when it changed green, and I hit the gas hard. In the middle of the intersection there must of been a small hump at the apex and not only was my back tire spinning a bit, the front wheels came off the ground momentarily. What a rush. So dont let anybody tell you a reverse trike can't lift the front wheels. It definitely happened.

Cheers, and it's good to be posting here again.
Cheers all.

You are really making me consider relocating to NE Tennessee. It has been on the back of my mind now for many, many years. And nice to see some postings on Spyders.
Well your in luck. Our house goes on the market next week. We are moving back to NOR-CAL to be with our Grandkids who are 6 months and 2.5 years old. I'm going to miss this area a whole lot . Particularly the riding.
But back home there are some great roads that I know quite well that are really awesome. It'll also be nice to go riding with my Brother again who is also addicted to riding.
Here's a picture of our bikes on a rest break at the 20240315_124413.jpg

So I put a cheap battery in that I got online. I hope it lasts as long as the last battery I got that I paid real money for. New tire came in this week so I will have to find time to put it on and change the rear brake pads at the same time. I am also going to do the fronts as I have them on hand. They are easy to do and I can start the new year with new brakes all the way around. I am getting to old to be crawling around on the cement and I can't afford a real lift. I have a Harbour freight lift and also some ramps so I can get it up a little.

I put EBC Sintered pads front and rear, and new EBC rotors up front. Warped the old rotors .
New pads and rotors took a fairly long time to finally bed in. Even after doing the recommend break in procedure.
Now that everything is well broken in the F3S stops better than ever.
Pretty easy to do with just a motorcycle/atv harbor freight jack, and the brake caliper tool that spins the pistons into the calipers.

I have been running that combination on my 2012 RT for years. I love it and so will you.

Yessir I'm sold on the combo. The only thing i didn't do was change the rear rotor. It wasn't warped, so maybe next time when I change the rear tire I'll upgrade the rear rotor. As big as it is i believe it dissipates heat better than the front.
Going out for a ride to Mars Hill NC to meet up with a bunch of Spyder riders for lunch today. Wx is superb right now. Its only a 53 min ride, mostly on I-26. Looking forward to it.

It was a Beautiful ride. We rode through the flood devastation from Helene at Erwin on I-26. Still only 1 lane open. It'll be years before it's back to normal.
Good lunch and good company. Lots of Spyder talk. Mostly about tires and how outrageous labor costs for maintenance is. Most of it down right criminal. Some were reporting $ 350.00 oil changes.🤪 luckily I do my own work when possible.
Have a good ride, and keep it between the Mayo & Mustard ;-)>

I did ride the AJ off road but I lived to hear the Porcupine AJS and Manx Nortons sing at high speed in a road racing. Still do. Nothing like one of those big singles singing at 6,000 rpm or coming out of a curve in third and going to 4 th as they hit the straight.
