How to check the Error Codes on a 2025 Spyder RT

On today’s ride I received an error message indicating the incorrect key had been inserted in the ignition. This is related to the DESS system. It was raining and my phone was near the key. I removed the key and the error went away. I understand that this can be a normal error code, but it raises the question how do you check the error codes on the Spyder? (The Spyder is new with under 600 miles. This is the first and only time that I have seen this error)

Other points unrelated to the subject heading - I installed the latest update. It does help with the Apple CarPlay connection, but there are still issues. On today’s ride, the unit dropped from one Cardo headset then the other. When using voice commands, the audio dropped but the display still showed the active song.

The time changed - I changed the time using the menu but there was no way to change the date. Is this automatic?

As always, thank you for your help

Stay safe

I just found this info:

1. Turn the power on and start your Spyder.
2. Using the mode button, Press the button until hours (total not trip) are displayed at the bottom of the cluster.
3. Holding the mode button down. Flash your high beams 3 times (quickly)

Honestly, with only 600 miles on it, it shouldn't be giving you these issues. I'm guessing it is still under warranty and suggest reaching out to service department at the CanAm dealer.

This is a well known problem unfortunately. If you can, find somebody with a BRP Buds diagnostic scan tool to delete the DESS Program. The Can-am dealer probably wouldn't delete the DESS , but rather clear the problem until next time.
Oh, and you should be able to observe codes (if it was a stored code) by scrolling through the menus on your instrument cluster. If it was intermittent it probably won't show.

Thank you. To date this is the only error I’ve seen so far. I will definitely let the dealer know. The unit is under full + extended warranty
