What Did You Do To Your Freewheeler Today?

Ok, I'm getting irritated now. Jack, can you explain the magic of getting that plug to the parking brake sensor underneath the trike apart? I really don't want to break it.

If you follow the wire to the molex plug you should be able to unplug it there, looks like mine goes under the frame on the LS

Gave my '21 Freewheeler to the driver who picked it up to get the 5000 mile service done. 50 degrees and raining today so I'm glad the pickup is included with the service. The dealer is an hour and a half from me. They bring it back when done, hopefully end of the week.

Drove down to Delaware to pick up a 2 1/2" diameter timer cover plate that they wanted $59 + $19 shipping for! I apparently had $50 in points, courtesy of the dealership for buying the trike there, so now that expensive ornament is attached to my Freewheeler. I was rather surprised at how flimsy the OEM plate is when I took it off. The new one is hefty steel, nicely chrome plated, with the bar and shield that matches the horn I put on a couple weeks back. Had a good lunch on the way back and was home in time to get some shop work done, after installing the timer cover plate of course. Got to have your priorities :)

The replacements are nice and heavy compared to the stock covers. I replaced all of ours.

Good riding today

After changing the shift linkage ( I have always used heim joints with the factory rod)

Now , after changing the entire linkage ( a first for me) the clunk is all but a thing of the past. Up shifts and down no longer clunk, I might miss that NOT:p

The instructions ( from HD ) are wrong, so I did it my way( H D wants the front part put on the outside), this caused a bind, also the chrome cover ( cheap at best) does not fit the arm on the transmission. Not a deal breaker as I used an in store credit

That sounds great no clunking. I will want to go that route. Do you have any install tips on any thing that you did. Maybe a few pics if you could. Thanks.

No pictures yet, if you read the instructions and follow them for your year trike you will not have any problems

THere are many knock offs on the market cheaper, but IMO cheaper is just that. Chose wisely Here is a link, click on details for instruction page

Nice pic and that looks a lot better than the original and more rugged. Less Flex.

I have always changed all my shifters to heim joint rod ends. They will last a lifetime and not leave you stranded like the cheap factory joints

This time I opted for the solid linkage seen here with heim joints. I had an in store credit to use;)

You can get heim joints for your stock HD rod here
