The last couple weeks we have been riding all over the mountains with two other couples on our trikes. We have done a pretty good job of covering all the rides from eastern Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. We ride between 150 and 250 miles a day and then return to the campground each evening worn out.

Of course whenever we come across a Harley dealership we stop in. It usually isns't an issue for me. I have everything I want on my 16 TG and tee shirts don't interest me much anymore.

Yesterday we stopped at the dealership in Bristol VA (Black Wolf HD). The gals went one way and all three of us went to the 19 trikes. I swear a dark blue and silver one said something to me! Anyway, to make a long story short, I am buying the darn thing.

I only took about a 30 minutes test drive on it but there were two things that impressed me. The torque difference and power between a 103 and 114 was much greater than I thought it would be, and the suspension was about 50% to 75% better. I don't actually pick it up until this afternoon and due to the rain from hurricane Michael we won't ride until Friday, but in the next 3 or 4 days while in this area we plan on putting 600 to 800 miles on her riding in the mountains and valleys. I can't wait!

Fantastic. It's great (and unfortunate ;)) that the moco makes these improvements and forces us to buy, lol. Seriously, enjoy your new ride and that great area to ride in.

I have that problem too, but I have will power - I end up leaving a dealer with a poker chip......whewwww. :D :D

I was at Black Wolf last May just before my accident. Also stopped at Black Bear and Smith Bros. = 3 poker chips and no new bike.

Congrats on your new baby.

Be glad your wife was with you! The last time I stop by a dealer and left with a new ride. I enjoyed a great ride home. When my wife looked at the new bike she stood there looking at it. Turned and walked away saying "Big Boys and their toys" over and over again. Fast forward a week later I got home to give a brand new SUV sitting in the driveway. Thinking we had visitors I went to see who it was. I found my wife drinking coffee at the kitchen table. All she said was "Big Girls and their check books".

:(

congrats on the new ride. I hate it when they come and bite you. ENJOY ride safe

Wow Joe, congrats on the new scoot, definitely need some pics when you pick it up.

Congratulations. I'm curious what you thought of the new suspension front & rear?

Jack is right, you will love the M8 & most likely the new infotainment system.

Simply congratulations!

Thanks guys/gals! Only logged another 15 miles or so on her yesterday just to get back to campground from dealer, and that was in a light rain. The DW was with me and she loved the new suspension.

Spent a couple hours in my enclosed trailer installing all the extras I had removed from my 16. I have a couple more things to slap on this morning and I'll be done. It was a little nerve racking drilling four holes in the top of the tour pack as usual, but the luggage rack is on perfectly. Should have some pics in the next couple days. If I can figure out how to post again I will.

Shorter ride today. Saturday we will do the Back Of The Dragon. Either Sunday or Monday we will probably do the Snake again, either way I should have at least 500 or more miles on her before we head to Savanna Tuesday.

Info center is a HUGE improvement. It is crisper/cleaner looking and it responds immediately when using navigation. The two main complaints about my 16 was the ride and the info center was like using something from the 80's. Looks like Harley took care of those two things nicely.

Happened to me. At a dealer passing out posters for the three wheel rally in Deadwood and there sat a MC Prowler, all bright, sparkling red. Dealer was all over me offering all manner of goodies for us to take it out of his showroom. Long to short - it's sitting in the garage. Bad part is due to some health issues the thing has just over 600 miles on it after a year. But, one more hurdle and I'm "on the road again".

Like car dealers

When the 19 TG came out my 15 TG suddenly lost $2K in trade value. That was enough to convince me there will be no new

Harley in my future. Felt like one of the old roadside used car dealers who were always picking your pocket. These boutique

dealerships have so much added cost, they must be struggling to maintain.

They are and some are going out of business. There are 10 dealerships that are owned by the same people in my area. You would think that would be great for finding a part - BUT NOOOOOO - I needed a stock air filter for my Ultra a couple years ago - and not one of those dealers had one in stock. Can you believe that? There's not much competition around here anymore.

Oh nooooooo Mr. Bill!

Whoever started this thread about not going to dealerships should be given a medal...maybe? I guess the admonition did not stick well enough with me. Today, I traded my 2017 Superior Blue with pinstripping for a 2019 Scortched Orange/Black Denim with pinstripping TGU. The dealership is in the process of moving some components from my former trike to the new one and will be delivering it to the house tomorrow. Sheesh, this is the third Tri Glide Ultra I am going to have to break in. Given all of the crazy things that have gone on since I had purchased the 2017 in terms of my wife retiring, us selling our home and moving to South Florida, I only put 7900 miles on it in about 22 months. The trike was running perfectly but the allure of the 114, the new suspension and the new Infotainment system were too much to resist. I will post pictures when I get the trike because I know that it didn't happen with this group until I post a picture:p

It will be interesting to see how the extra 7.3 foot pounds of torque (121 max) in the 114 hitting max at 3250 rpm rides compared to my former 107 making 113.7 hitting max at 3500 rpm? My former TC103 made 101.8 foot pounds of torque at 3250 rpm. I suspect that I will like the extra torque of the 114 when I ride out West in those high mountains and long steep uphill grades?

where did you buy it at?

Congrats Bob! The burnt orange and flat black combination was what my buddy was trying to deal on when I bought mine at Black Wolf Harley in Bristol. The dealer said there were only about 12 of them available nationwide. That color combination will certainly turn some heads!

I only have just over 400 miles on mine but I am still soooooo impressed with the 114. I am still climbing the learning curve on the info center but continue to be impressed.
