Apparently the prior shop didn't know to never, ever, under any circumstances, situations, or conditions, install anything other then an OEM starter. OEM starters must come from a Honda dealer, and only come in Honda packaging. This perfect, look-a-like-knock-off, POS, aftermarket starter, has a sheared gear pin, and the missing pin parts are now lost inside the engine. That now means that the engine must come out, be disassembled, inspected for damage, and the metal retreived.

The same is true for aftermarket alternators. No matter how good the sales ad is, do not use them. The risk of serious damage is to high.

Wife and I still thank you for being nice and helpful when we visited you (at your shop) a few years ago when we were on a vacation.
