They could use the smart tune function of the SEPST and tune it.

If you have a SERT, upgrade it for the new version for $100.00. Give your TRIKE to a knowledgeable tuner and you can have great results without a DYNO. If your in Illinois contact Otto, at "Engines by Otto", in Sugar Grove IL. By the way, he has access to a DYNO that a Trike can go, but he said he could do a pretty good Tune using the TTS Mastertune and I must say, I'm pleased!!! Guess I'll just stick with the SE255 cams.

There is certainly nothing wrong with the SE2555 cams. Ride and enjoy it. At this present time I am very happy with the way mine runs. If and when I grow tired of it I will go big, probably a 120R. Who knows.

My buddy has a 2010 Tri Glide, if he turns on his four way flashers. they won't turn off unless he removes his seat and disconnects the battery.....???
what is that all about? Any one else have that problem? WE have checked all the wiring abd cannot locate anything amiss. Thought I would check here before he takes it to the dealer..........ThumbUp

Getting the 4 ways to turn off can some times be a real PIA on any of the HD's. You have to push both buttons in at the same time, if your a fraction of a second off between on or the other they will not turn off. You also have to have the ignition switch in the on position when you go to turn the 4 ways off.

Sorry if I m not in the right place to post, if not, someone please steer me to the right place. I have a 1999 FLHT that I converted to a trike last year, got the kit from Champion Sidecar, any way I have been trying to install a steering damper from HD, part #83808-09 I seem to have a interference problem, the damper body contacts the top of the fork tube, anybody have this problem, am I doing something wrong! I was told this should fit all the baggers from 96 to present.

That's totally Awesome... Get the easy pull clutch assist and 'Ride it like you stole it'. Nothing like the beauty of the Tri Glide.

You might check if the Ultra Glide (FLHTCU), & the Ultra Trike (FLHTCUTG) is a different part #. I do know there is a difference in the clearance under the neck. Probably because of the difference in the rake of the front end. Or it might be a difference in the mounting bracket. :Trike1:

I own a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 and considering a used 2012 HD Tri Glide FLHTCUTG with low miles at a dealer in Ontario. I am in Nova Scotia. I am 66 and lately having problems keeping my bike upright so that's the reason for considering a trike. What can I expect to find on a 2012 Tri Glide being that I never owned a Harley bike before nor have I ever been on a trike. The only thing the dealer said was the 2012 was bought in the USA and has low miles and is completely stock. So here are my newbie questions about the Tri Glide. Is the Tri Glide shaft drive or belt? What issues about the 2012 Tri Glide that I should know about first before I consider it for purchase. I mean, how is the cam chain and clutch, the vulcans have issues with a stretching cam chain. Is the Tri Glide cable or hydraulic clutch, do they have reverse gears? What miles per gallon can I expect? Does the 2 rear wheels have disc brakes? Ok enough for my newbie questions for now. More later.

Belt drive, the cam chain is pretty much trouble free. The clutch is fine for the 103 CI. Especially if you are stock. It will take quite a bunch of mods before ya need to do much to it, but it is easily upgradable. It is cable operated on the TG.
The reverse is probably the weak link. It is an electric motor reverse, & has it's problems. If you want a manual reverse they are available for around $1300 + install. You can do yourself though.
MPG is relevant to how you drive. Best around 40,,, worst around 25.
Disk brakes on both ends. 2 on the rear & 2 on the front.

Thanks. Ok another Harley newbie question. My 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan has 1 hole for oil, and has a wet clutch, so the oil I use must be compatible for a wet clutch. The oil is used for crankshaft, transmission gears and wet clutch. I get confused on the Harleys with the 3 separate holes and which is for what purpose. Is the 2012 Tri Glide a wet clutch bike and if so, what hole is that in? I'm not familiar with the Harley terms but slowly making progress. Which hole is for what purpose?

Being that you own a 2012 Tri Glide, and that I have never ridden a trike before, I would like to ask you for your impressions on Tri Glide riding versus 2 wheel motorcycle riding. I've been having a bit of difficulty lately riding my 2 wheeled Vulcan on the highway going 120 km per hour, I wonder if riding a Tri Glide would give me more stability and confidence.

Degreaser, The 2012 does have a wet clutch. The left side of the motor trans has a cover called a inner and outer primary. There is oil put in the primary thru the appr 6 inch round cover on the side. The cover is remover and the oil is added. The drain is on the bottom near the same location.

The manual reverse they are referring to is a mod that is installed on the trans on the right side that is used to add a manual reverse gear using the transmission. There are several different versions of this modification. I have the "AIM" versions and it works well.

The stability of a trike is great. Once you have some saddle time and build the confidence you will wonder what took so long to switch.

Go to the harley-davidson.com site, and then to manuals, & open up the owners manual. It is in different volumes, so you can read each area separately. Find the manual for a FLHTCUTG.

Congrats and good luck. I too am a new Tri-Glide owner. Just traded my Ultra for a 2013 Ember Red TG. Only put on about a 120 miles so far and loving it. Really different handling from a two wheeler but was able to make the 50+ turnpike miles home, at night and 2 up without any issues. Was a bit nervous at first going into the tight curves of the off ramp so I just took it slow. The next day I went for another 50 mile ride on some nice two lane country road with lots of twisties and was impressed at how well she handled once I figured out how to position myself in the curves.

I have 300 miles on mt new HD trike geting on and off is hard for me.
I keep hiting the rear finder with my boot
Any one have to change the way they get on and off
thanks Big Red

Just bought 2013 Tri-Glide this week, We live in Great Bend, KS. I have riding since I was about 10 years old (now 72) first ride was (sidecar Cushman) Since then you name it I’ve ridden it from Indian Chief when I was 13 took my brother and I both to start he was younger but bigger so he kicked and I drove.
Had big Harleys little Harleys and a lot of Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki bikes.
Been riding mostly Gold Wings the last 20 years, but still have 1300 VTX I ride a lot.
We just bought 2013 Tri Glide this week so here I am. Love it so far.
My bride and I look forward to meeting some of you and being around a lot.
I haven't had much chance to ride, drove it home Thursday 35 degrees when I left Wichita (120 miles home) and didn't get chance to ride Friday snowed all day Saturday and last night.
But this is kansas so weather will change any minute.

I just bought my new Aniv about a month ago. First thing I did was to get rid ofthe heat problem after melting my boots. Did that with some Rush headers, Rienhart slip on's, ThunderMax tuner, and a JetScream air filter. That was the best thing I ever done! Got rid of a lot of heat and increased HP, IMO, 15-20. It's a different machine with a usable 6th gear. I am however, be perfectly honest, am a little disappointed in the suspension. When going 55-60, and hit some rough asphalt patches, it has the feeling of a wobbling front end. I don't like that! It also has done that to me when I have hit RR tracks at an angle. Same thing! Still don't like that. Maybe I am expecting to much, but I don't like the uncomfortable feeling while going that fast. I read about these guys going 85-100 on the interstate, or while passing cars, what happens when they hit something like that at high speed? Do you still get that wobble feeling, or is it my trike?
Confused about suspension..

The railroad track thing is what it is, just slow down a bit if you can. Now on the ride and handling, this is what works the best for me. Front tire 36lbs of air. Rear tires 22lbs of air. Shocks 30lbs of air(for two up). 10lbs of air (one up). And of coarse the lift kit, mine is from tGLIDE Stuff.ThumbUp
