Did wheels have to come off to remove center caps

You're asking about the stock Freewheeler cap? The wheel doesn't need to come off. Look at the pic in post #5 - the cap on the right. At 11 o'clock you can see the notch where a screwdriver will pop the cap off...

I know this is an old thread....but wondering if anyone has found a "hack" to make the FreeWheeler center caps less likely to pop off? I saw someone said glue...don't like that idea. Anyone? Thanks....jc

Yep, the center shaft that goes in the center hole of the wheel?

For what it's worth. I put several strips of anti slip (graphite) tape on every other plastic flange/prongs (?) that goes into the hub

Are you talking about the Sandpaper type tape they put on the edge of stairs? Thanks

Yes. Just a narrow 1/4" wide strip, curl over the end and approximately the lenght of the prong ( play it by ear). It gives it a tight fit and of course adds friction

OK....1 sleeve of Skid Guard Safety Tape {Lowes}....Cleaned both caps....and inside wheels and wrapped all SIX of those damn things. I dare them to come of now! lol
