Question on drilling hole in fairing

I am doing a mod to the front end of my GL1800 trike. I need to drill two 1/4 holes on the underside of the fairing, one hole on each side and under the front lights, hidden. I am a bit concerned that cracks might begin to form around the holes. Nothing will be attached to the holes, like a bolt or screw, no weight or tension. Should I be concerned about cracks or am I good to go? Also...any tips on drilling?

:Coffee:,,,In my experience that's what you do to stop a crack from spreading so I don't see a problem . Maybe a good body man will know a little more but I wouldn't think it would harm it at all . JMO,,,,,:Shrug::Shrug:

If you want to make a nice clean hole with little effort use a step bit or unibit in your drill.The step bit will go through ABS like its butter. A regular drill bit likes to catch and doesnt make as clean as a hole.

Postscript--I used a step bit and it worked like a charm...thanks for the suggestions.

Put a piece of masking tape where You are drilling...it helps keep the paint from "splintering".....ThumbUp
