This seems to be an informative site. Girl friend got a VTX 1300 R with a Motor Trike kit installed. She really likes it. But now its time for new rear brake pads. Any one know what I have to shop for before I start taking wheels off? And what did I see on a post about a ford ranger rear axle?!?

Welcome dmdyank! great folks and info here.I am in LaFayette maybe we can get a cup of coffee sometime.Countryal is pretty close to.My motor trike has shoes not pads?RIDE SAFE

Welcome dmdyank,we are real close. I'm about 10 miles from Wetumpka. Maybe we can get together with Lucky for a ride if this HEAT and those afternoon thunderstorms ever slack up! As for your brakes, go to the Technical section and ask Bazooka. He has a shop and builds Trikes.

Welcome aboard. Glad you joined us. Sorry no help on the brakes.

You might take a look at this link, and contact our member "kj5ix". This is a MotorTrike service manual that he put together. If anyone knows the parts used and details on the brakes, I think he would be the go-to-guy on the forum.
Welcome Welcome.......................

Welcome aboard. Do you know if you have the newer independent suspention,or the straight axel? If its straight axel then you should have brake shoes with drums. if drums ,then it is a little more involved. If you ever changed brakes on an older car with drums, its the same set up.
