My TriGlide to 2019 Goldwing CSC Trike Switch

Suspension makes or breaks a good ride or a great ride

Suspension is what makes a good ride or great ride! Best way to know for sure is to test ride the brand MC and trike kit(s) you have an interest in thus you made an informed decision. If you will have a pillion, make sure they are on those test rides. JMHO

While we were at Asheville I noticed the front tire was getting close and then we went to Maggie Valley and by the end of it I knew I needed a front tire. Well we got it mounted and installed yesterday it is a Michelin Road Classic rear tire in reverse so we gonna give it a try.

Nice Looking Rubber

Man, that a nice-looking tire, it being a Michelin is a Plus! I have a Cobra Chrome Trike tire waiting for the Bridgestone OEM to wear out. Seem I have a few more thousand left on it. If I go on a planned trip, I may have to get it installed before I hit the road.

Heated seat light on dash keeps blinking, awhile back my heated seat dash lights were blinking and after shutting the bike down and starting it back up they stopped but this past week they came back on and did not stop. I pulled the seat and checked the connector, cleaned and reassembled with a little dielectric grease but the indictor was still on so I checked all the fuses in the fuse box and all are good. I don't have a schematic to check the seat, what should I check or can the seat be ohm out to check the heater?

Will responded "That is all Honda not CSC. But what I have seen is the seat connector is not plugged all the way in. I would remove the seat. Then try to plug in the seat then lightly unplug it to see if it can come apart."

I am going to try it again but I would like to find a wiring diagram for the seats maybe Diamond seats will send me one.

Okay I contacted Diamond seats looking for a schematic or some advice and this is what I received from them. "Thank you Ron.

This date on here means this is from our previous seat heater supplier. We switched in September 2021 to a new supplier because of poor service from the old place. Some of their heaters would stop working and they would not honor the warranty. That means I have no access to any technical assistance for this heater. I can tell you based on what you are describing and the fact it is this time frame, it is most likely the heater is no longer functioning properly due to a broken diode or wire inside the heater. The unit is not repairable. It can only be replaced.

Sorry for the bad news"

So now I must decide do I just ride with the option for heated seat and see the indicator constantly flashing, or buy a new seat I would like to try an Ultimate seat, or buy a dummy load that will turn off the indicator on the dash. I am considering taking the seat apart but if something happens I would be without a seat

I had a similar problem a while back with my brake lights working and then not working. Will suggested taking the seat off and checking the plug. Sure enough, it was connected but not clicked so not making contact all the time. I made sure the connections was secure and the problem was solved.

The heated seat lights did go out and it seams to be working fine, now we need the rain to stop so we give it a good test ride. :GL1800:

Looking forward to your review, after returning from Americade my butt told me

I REALLY need a different seat.

Glad to hear all is working just fine now. Hopefully, the original seat company provided some assistance - or discount.

In all of my years of riding (since 1970), I have never changed any of my stock seats. All have seemed to just fit me well. Got back from a trip this past week - longest day was just around 600 miles. Neither my wife nor I seemed to have had any problems.

I also noticed that I don't recall using my highway pegs either - so, something must be working pretty good. I will say that on our rides, it has always been my practice to stop every 100 miles of so. On this past trip, it seemed we were stopping about 80 miles or so because that is where the rest areas were.

This is probably why we believed the seat was OK. We simply ride for enjoyment - and usually have plenty of time to travel.

Donald, I agree with stopping every hundred or so miles but I wasn't making it 75 and I was miserable could not enjoy riding and could not ride with friends without them stopping too, I had started using a purple cushion and I could ride a lot longer but when the heater went out and the dash indicator kept flashing because of it, the seat had to be changed. I have to admit this is the first seat I have replaced I did modify one on a Venture one time.

Wow we had a great ride we rode about seventy five miles before stopping and the seat is good my butt got tired but I was not hurting like before and we ended up about 120 mile trip. My problem now is no one makes a drink holder for the Ultimate passenger back rest and my handle bars are full after adding a CB to the bike. I think I will have to put my thinking hat on and fab up something. After comparing the seats I think if I was taller the Diamond seat would have been different.

I should have taken the seat cover off for the picture but didn't think about it we kind of dodged the rain all day that day

Must a RDL seat?

Your trike looks great.....I'm on my 3rd RDL and won't have a bike/Trike without it.

SO comfortable for the long haul.

I was talking with a guy yesterday, whos freind just baught a Harly triglide. I think he said his buddy paid $48,000 for it ... OUCH :(

So Greg - yes, they can be a bit expensive. Still you can either cut corners or get what you want.

I purchased a 2021 Ultra - cost me $33,000 (included taxes and all the other stuff - CB and XM radio I got). Then I added the CSC kit - cost me $18,000. So, I have about $51,000 in my trike.

Curious, how much is yours. A base Gold Wing Tour is $28,000. Add taxes and the other stuff you want plus the trike kit - should be around $18K for you too - and you are already over that $48,000 figure.

We're not a trike dealer, nor an accessory shop. We do service, repair, and tires on GL1800s only. JustWings is the only specilized GL1800 repair shop in the world. Our buisness also includes repair and service on the trike half of GL1800s too.

Thanks Sir - but, I believe you missed my point. You said OUCH to a new TriGlide at $48K - I was asking about the price for a new Wing that has a trike kit attached?
