Mixing tire mfg

Tire mix

You will get all sorts of responses on this subject, anyhow, mine is fine with your mix.

Ken thank you for your first post. Should not be an issue at all. The tire size difference is so much different to start with.

Ken Welcome to Trike -Talk.......:clapping:.....

About the tires, Its done all the time, The only time you should not mix them is obviously not on the same axle... Again Welcome....:wave4:

Ken, you will be fine with an Avon Trike tire up front with whatever brand of tire on the rear of your trike.

BTW, I like my Avon Trike tire...

Welcome aboard, Ken!

I am running the Avon Trike front tire (41 psi) with the stock Dunnys (23 psi) on the rear. No issues. About 8k miles on this set up now. Will look at Goodyear comfort treads on the rear when the time comes.

What are thoughts on mixing tire mfg, Avon front and Dunlop rears, I'm ready for a new front and would like to try Avon trike specific tire.

I would not worry...As I'm not sure these issues are true with the two wheelers, I am really sure with car tires on the back and a Motorcycle tire on front can't be an problem - IMO

Over Twenty thousand on Michelin Commander II (2 tires One a front one and now a Rear mounted in reverse as needed for splice integrity) not a single problem with either Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania. :good: ride safe Fred

Modern day trikes are typically running car type tires on the rear with a cycle tire out front. This goes back as far as I can remember.

However when you see pics of HD Servicars from as far back as the 30's, all three tires are motorcycle specific.

I've been running a motorcycle type Firestone/Coker out front, and BFG Radial T/A's out back for 5 seasons without any tire related hiccups...
