Mid engine trike

The trans does not HAVE to be upside down.
The typical way to do it is remove the diff unit out of the side of gear box and walk around to the other side and stick it back in.
Of course there is things to take care about, the main one is setting the gear backlash. But if you are using the same parts that came out of it then at maximum you may re-arrange the shims that already exist.

I turned my trans upside down primarily to lower the height the engine is off the ground. It is very uncommon and is not an easy project. If you are familiar with rebuilding tranaxles and have the tools and a machine shop at your disposal.....then it is do-able.

Is there any drawings on here on how to fab up mounts?

I don't think so,......only photos here. See my build thread.

Send me your email and will send you what I can find on my computer at work

Do you have AutoCAD so you can work with the engineering files?

Sorry to hear about your stroke but it sounds like if you were released, that's good news.

Not sure on a trike but I have built a couple of mid engine sand rails and did not care for the engine noise or heat and went back to rear engine design.
A trike woukd be hard to build unless it is 16-20 feet long. :)

Yes the engine noise, heat, ECT is BAD ......almost as bad as riding a Harley.
Speaking of Harley and Trikes.....here is my mid compared to a Harley.
A touch shorter even with the "raked out springer".
And a lower overall (other than the apes), seat very much lower
Also quite a bit narrower (track width).

And,......yes some mid buggy parts involved.

And again .......mine is a bit more modified than "usual"
