Mid engine Trike ?c

I m laying out my first Trike. I was woundering what trans do they use. Is it a 914 or modified bug?

Turn the ringgear around, it goes the other way. VW bug.

It is fairly simple to flip the ring. Pull the whole differential unit out one side and stick it in the other side. The ring and pinion is helical not hypoid in the vw diff so it does work. Check your backlash/ shimming when you do.
You building a swing or a cv?
Narrowing it?
How low are you wanting to go?

I have my mid very low. 3-1/2 inch to the drain plug.

I have both swing and IRS trans. I also have a set of 3" narrower swing axles left over from a drag car that I might use if I with swing axle set up. I m trying to educate myself and gathering up front end parts.

Of course you know a swing is easier.
So how low ya wanna go?
They build them like this in Sweden all the time. Most them guys run very short tires to get it low like a motorcycle.
You can squat an irs as long as the axles stay long enough.
I did the machine work and run my swing upside down old school formula v style.

O... and it is a 65 short axle that is cut 6 inch each side. 48 inch wide total to the outside widest point.
