Awww, Dang It!
Unfortunately not this year. I have to back out of the event due to conflicting dates with an upcoming elective medical procedure. See you next year.
I am so bummed to say that Jo Ann & I aren't going to make it to MV this year, we will dearly miss everyone.
So here's the short story, Jo Ann had her regular mammogram a couple of weeks ago and something didn't look right to the tech, then she had an ultrasound, and finally had to have a biopsy. The results were Stage 1 cancer, very localized and the slow growing type. She's going to have surgery some time after labor day followed by 4-6 weeks of radiation therapy. We just don't want to take any chances with travelling, hotel, eating out, etc., or catching anything and delaying treatment.
I don't know how everyone feels about going to MV this year but here's some info:
https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/684/Coronavirus-Covid-19-Information ( appears to be down right now)
https://www.nc.gov/covid-19/staying-ahead-curve
https://www.visitnc.com/advisory/snRb/coronavirus-travel-advisory
Also, OldSchool did some checking and several of our favorite restaurants are not allowing dine in, strictly take-out ---- Frankies, Butts on the Creek, Brooks BBQ, Rendezvous, Carvers, Snappys, Arthur’s Restaurant is only open Wed.-Sun and needs reservations for inside dining. Joey's Pancake House is open with restricted seating as is the Buttered Biscuit and several other breakfast places. Doug also relayed that there is no breakfast buffet at the motel, a sort of boxed breakfast to go. Wheels Through Time is also closed for now.
And now we're out......again.
I've been nursing an inoperable tear in my rotater cuff since November.
Injections, therapy and being real careful. It was feeling pretty good so
I finally took the trike out last week and did about 50 miles of twisties and 50 miles of interstate.
And now I,m paying for it. It looks like this years riding amounted to one short ride ride.
We we're really looking forward to MV especially this year with lock downs and no riding.
I hope 2021 will be a MUCH better year for everyone.
Did they tell ya rotator cuff won't heal on its own.
Yea I know.
It's not your typical torn rotater cuff tho. More of a rip down the middle.
